Basic Questions

Since I haven't played the game yet I am wondering does Beyond Earth have happiness or some equivalent? Are there some resources that need to be acquired to maintain your population? Does anyone have a list of the resources and what they do? What is the function of each resource? what units they allow you to build and how they relate to affinities? I am sure some may add a hammer or food to your tiles. Are there any that are considered OP like salt?

This knowledge will allow us to hit the ground running.

As for happiness it is now Health.
Xenomass = harmony
Faraxite = supremacy
Float stone = Purity

While we're doing "basic questions", what causes/adds un-healthiness? Founding an extra city? Growing pop? Both?

Both. Unhealth is at .75 a pop. Certain improvements (the manufactory and oil well) add to it as well.
