hi, i have a dell laptop, about 6 months old and my battery has started acting up. Its a dell 90W AC adapter and when i plug it in it doesnt work, although, sometimes after fiddling i can get it to go. I know the power supply is not a problem.

Whenever its not working it makes a beeping noise. Does this mean its worn out/damged or is there another way to fix it?

thanks

your DC controller *might* be fried. It happened to my laptop, where it would recognize the charger only every so often. At best, it will require a tad of soldering to set it back into place, at worst, a whole new mobo ( maybe even a laptop in that case ). And unless you know what you're doing, you're better off taking it to a professional, it might very well end up cheaper to do so.

I had problems with my dell laptop no charging the battery and it was an issue of the power supply (If that's what it's called? ) on the cord, when I called Dell tech support they sent me a new one, which fixed the problem.
