Battlefield Vietnam

Is just BF1942 with helicopters.

Their are afew nifty new features but apart from that it is essentally BF42. Not that thats a bad thing though, but it feels like a mod or expansion pack rather than a new game. There also apears to be some balancing issues with infantry weapons. And, yeah, the AI still sucks.

On the other hand however, if it aint broke dont fix it, as they say. It is a damn fun game.

So, what do ya'all think of it?

The helicopters are easier to fly than in desert combat. Although I still kinda like the dc ones better.

You could say BF:Vietnam, is just a professionally made mod with an improved graphical engine. Still fun though.

I've really wanted to play it, but I haven't had the chance yet. I loved 1912 as well as the desert combat mod.

bf vietnam is awesome...concerning the unbalanced infantry weapons i have heard there is going to be a patch that 'fixes' the m60, which is by far the best weapon/package in the game. in regards to the game, the play is very similar to 1942, but as was said, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. by the way, my name is the same as here, so give me a holler if you see me in ho chi minh.

I concur to that. The sound and music is awesome, the Graphics are eating my GFX card alive....

ahh i didnt even mention the music. nothing beats rolling into combat on a motor scooter accompanied by Ride of the Valkyries.

Indeed, nothing quite like rolling through 'Nam in a tank with Wagner's classic blaring!

The M-60 will be fixed by a patch, but it was surprising just how powerful that thing was. You could bring a guy down in a single 2-3 second burst.

BF Vietnam is the most fun game in the FPS arena right now. A really great game.
