Been awhile..vanilla

So its been awhile but has any updates been made to the vanilla version maybe adding in civs or anything like that in the past 5 months?
im waiting for my game to install and im going to giver another go. Need to go buy the beyond the sword again since i traded it, but back then the mod never worked on my system for some reason. Would always freeze and die. So yea anything new to the vanilla? lol

Nope, no development is being done on the vanilla version.

Yeah, I say go buy BTS. It's worth your while, considerin how many BTS mods are on this forum alone. And BTS itself is a whole new level of gameplay. Check it out.

I've never even played a single game of BtS. Just bought it to play FfH

Haha i jsut bought it now. I installed the most recent patch for BTS now, and ive downloaded the FFH 2 mod......now do i patch it or is it already done for me? I want to make sure i do eveyrthing correctly cause like i seaid i've had some issues in the past without it loading up.


Edit: i also want to add in the Fall Further modmod....any suggestions with all this? lol
second edit: yea i tried loading FFH 2 with the patch "I" and it did the same thing freezing up and shutting down.

First install the BtS. Then download the newest BtS patch (which you can do on civ fanatics in the appropriate forum) and install that. Then download FfH 2 version 32, install that. Then get the latest FfH patch, "L".
Then you can download and install Fal further mod, and then it's latest patch as well.

Yea ive done all that, and everywhere ive looked in the bug threads, the troubleshooting threads i cant find a reason why just like before my game crashes straight toi desktop with an error report whenever loading a game up.

Try this from the FfH FAQ thread...

You may have old files in your CustomAssets directory. Go to My Documents/MY Games/Sid Meier's Civilization 4/ and rename folder CustomAssets into CustomAssets.old (under Vista the path will likely be different - searching for the CustomAssets folder should bring it up).

And if that don't work. Then try this. Call up Firaxis. There should be a 24-hour number in the back of both of your booklets that came with Vanilla Civ and BTS. Try the Vanilla Civ number 1st tho, as that caused the problem 1st.

In the meantime, I gotta figure out why (and the other members of the team gotta as well) why the Battle Animations in Dragonia II ain't workin no more. Weird sh*t, weird sh*t. Grr...

Could you be more specific about when eactly it shuts down?

When you go into "Advanced -> About this Build" what civ version do you see listed?

Just to drop in with an issue i had which perhaps mirrors yours:

Try disabling opening movies and enable show python exeptions so you perhaps get a notification whats wrong. Also try window-mode. (all can be done in civ4-config or in options in-game.)

Then if it still doesn't work try reinstalling everything from scratch. (Sometimes it just deosn't seem to work right.)

Something of the above worked for me after comp-breakdown. (also got some issues with getting a game to start up without crashing.)

Also just use the base version of FFH2 0.32. (works with 3.13 i belive) without patching to patch L once to see if that works or if you allready crash at that point where patching to L and bts to 3.17 might not help any further.
