I can not move my forces to anywhere I want them to go, for example one step up, one step to the right, one step down and one step left and Ill be back at the same square, in the middle of these 4 squares there is a square I can not go to... is this possible?

Yes this is possible. You need to move diagonally. You can do this with the mouse....you need to click and hold (on the square you want to move to) the left mouse button until you see a goto text. Release the button and you're unit will go to that square. You can also use the keyboard
(1,3,7,9 buttons on numlock part of the keyboard).

I play on a laptop, so I don't have the numeric keypad on the right. I use the click and hold "go" action alot, however, you have to be careful with the mouse, because it's easy to click on the wrong square. Also, if you're attacking a unit with a diagonal move, sometimes if you use the "go" action, the unit will attack, and then move into the square, assuming that you wanted to destroy the unit, and then move there. When attacking, it's best to use the "home", "pg up", "pg down" and "end" buttons.
