Hello Everyone,

I would like to know what you think some of the best combinations of National and Regular Wonders with City Improvements are?

Here's one I think is a good military combo: West Point + Heroic Epic + Pentagon. That's a nasty combination especially with a civilization that has Aggressive as one of it's traits. If you have barracks + theology + vassalage, you have 14 xp points! Damn talk about a monster military powerhouse. Another good one is Hermitage + Globe Theatre or National Epic + Parthenon.

Give me your comments and opinions on what you think is good or not. You can also include City Improvements such as libraries and such, to show the immense power of some of these combinations.

If I can build the pyramids (which produce Great Engineer points) then I like to add Hanging Gardens there, so I have a city specialized in producing Great Engineers. Have to be careful, though, because the computer likes to assign other specialists instead of having a new citizen work an unimproved tile. Similarly, stonehenge and oracle belong in the same city so that great prophets are born there.

Agreed. Don't be afraid to spawn that accidental artist or prophet even when you don't need it. They can still be useful and usually they just increase your scientist and engineer birth rate.

If I build the great library I make this my GPcity, with the national epic in it. Though I don't play philosophical because I haven't seen the greatness of GPs yet apart from the occasional engineer and early 1 prophet and the rest scientists for acads and specialists. Of course merchants can be great if you time it to a certain military tech that will give you money to upgrade your units.

Heroic epic and westpoint is a nobrainer. Pentagon can be built anywhere, it's global.

Globe theater perhaps in a big city with happyness problems lategame, but I usually don't need it.

I don't build red cross and west point in the same city, since you want maximum experience on your offensive units, not your defensive ones. Tanks don't benefit from red cross for instance.

Oxford and natinional epic often together because of great library.

Ironworks is not something I often plan for, though it can be great for a wonder producing city as well as a military one.

Also, I don't remember if heroic epic and westpoints works for naval units, but I think they do. At least heroic epic I think. Or was it ironworks? I had a city that could chuck out a battleship almost every turn if I so wanted ;).

Globe Theater goes perfect with a GP-farm. If you get a city large enough, you'll have enough specialists to be able to choose what GP it produces next. So definitely pair it up with National Epic (increased GP production).

Pair up West Point (+4xp for all non-aircraft units) with Heroic Epic (increased military production)--hopefully in a coastal city, so your navy benefits as well. This is the city where you'll produce most of your late-game military.

Pair up Ironworks (increased overall production) with Red Cross (free Medic 1 promotion to all units, except for armored and helicopter)--again, hopefully in a coastal city. This is the city where you'll produce additional units, ones not as experienced (probably one promotion less, assuming you're not running theocracy and/or vassalage), but which will start with a free promotion of Medic 1. Don't expect these units to fight (as they're lacking one combat promotion), and thus use the city to produce backup units, to fill up your ranks. Otherwise, use this city to produce missionaries, scouts, or just research or gold.

Pair up Oxford University and Wall Street in a commerce-heavy city with at least one Shrine (preferably two or more Shrines, spread to the most cities). The OU will benefit from your high research rate, and the WS will benefit from your shrine income.
