I am in the market for a new laptop computer and I would like to play BNW Civ V on its highest settings and with large games on my new computer when it is released. My current laptop runs the game slowly in big games and without the graphics that this game is capable of. While this new laptop will be used mainly for work, I would like it it be top end for use of this game.
So i ask for suggestions for computer specs that would allow me to play this game at the highest possible settings

Thanks

To play the game at the "highest possible settings" the specs are simple... the "most expensive gaming computer that you can afford."

Any new computer with an i7 processor, decent memory, and decent integrated graphics will run G&K pretty well. I'd expect BNW will perform just as well.

G&K as of the latest patch is now so slow as to be unplayable on my older Win XP 3.2GHz Pentium-D GeForce 9600GT system.

my 3gb card can't hold the graphics for terrain on a standard map with satellites. obscene.

How old is ur computer? If it older than 2 years, get a new one. May I make a suggestion, get a computer within the HP pavilion series. It awesome. But it ur choice. My pavilion works well for work and can play tf2(that why my name is like that) and Civ 5 mainly. But I do occasionally play left four dead2. So far, lag would come in if there was ping distance. Also, Computer can run hot. So get a external cooler.
Edit: I gtg. I can tell u when I am back around 3 pm

Get a notebook and build your own PC. Combined, the price is usually a lot less than a "gaming laptop", which seems to be what you're looking for me, and performs much better.

I just bought a new PC back in February.

i7-3820 (OC'd up to 4.1GHz), 16GB DDR2 1600MHz, 2GB GDDR5 GTX680, on Windows 7 (passed on Windows 8)

I usually have no problem at all, the turns get a little lengthy in the late game (on Huge maps with maxed out City States), but all in all, a much smoother experience than my last PC, which also had an i7, but only 8GB DDR2 1333MHz and 1.5GB GDDR5 GTX 560Ti

My 1gb card can (but then I got 8gb of RAM). :dunno:

The only problem I have is that after the renaissance era, AI turns on huge maps take reeeeaaalllyyyy loooong. My CPU (i3-3220) seems to be the bottleneck.

If you decide to go the MacBook route, there is the maxed out 15" MacBook Pro with Retina Display. It is well over $3000 (but it lasts a very long time and has a screen better than any Windows laptop (the 15" Retina Display has a resolution of 2880 by 1800)). It would also allow you to play the legal Steam-free version of Civ V if you want to.

i have 16gb ram. I think it's a glitch about dedication

oooo fancy schmancy my comp is a little better than your old comp, i7 2600 8GB GTX580. Late game on Gedemon Giant Earth Map with Satellite revealed is slow but not that slow, like 20 seconds waiting for AI's. Laptop(even gaming ones) don't cut it for PC games like Civ5.

It's weird how better comps than mine have slow turn time.....

The graphics card is complicated because there's so many variants and I don't know enough.

However, I would have 4 GB RAM and 1.8 GHz Quad Core CPU.

I think a laptop is possible, however, once again, the graphics card could be tricky.

Graphics shouldn't be an issue; fairly easy to get a laptop with a decent video card installed these days. The issue with Civ seems to be more about CPU speed, which can be difficult to get on a laptop.

...Three thousand dollars? You could buy the equivalent Windows product five times over for that amount of money.

ASUS ROG systems run quietly and have a range of specs to suit anyone's needs, it's what I've been using since about 1.5 years ago, and still have to find a game that lags my system. Civ with G&K runs perfectly on highest settings with huge maps and the only reason it goes slow for most people is not the system specs but the programming of the AI.

Here's some links for reading up on them: http://rog.asus.com/notebook/17-inch/g75vx/

Not a bad price for gaming in today's market.

Also, I would be sure to get the 16GB RAM, dual hybrid drives as large as Afford/Possible in Raid0 this will speed you up even more.

I currently use the G74SX: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glhuEG5yqv8
16 GB RAM
560M GPU
2670QM Quad Core 2.20 GHz
750GB HD
1.5 2nd HD
Razer Megalodon 7.1 Headphones
I have had absolutely no complaints or problems with this system running full graphics for all my games. (I am not a super FPS gamer but occasionally I'll run Mass Effect or Skyrim both on highest settings.
Win7 64Bit

To be honest with you, OP, there is a lot of exaggeration regarding the topic. I used to run the original Civ5 up to version 705 using a Q6700, not even overclocked, with 8Gb of DDR2800, and a 9800GTX+ (granted, that is an old yet tough beast), without any problems up to Large maps... now I only changed the GFX, to a GTX 560Ti, everything else the same, and the game runs smooth with everything on High up to Huge maps, no delay (but for the known longer loading times after the Fall patch). DX11 of course.

So, use your money to build an "old", and cheap, system similar to mine, and get one of the GTX570Ti for a few bucks, and you are done. It will take everything you throw at it, including Far Cry 3 at Vey High setting without trouble. It does for me.
