Best/favorite all-around map type?

I almost exclusively use the Tectonic map script from the Steam workshop.

It gives a good range of separated continents, islands, mountain ranges and resource placement in my opinion.

Its also quite customisable and the AI will usually do quite well.

How do you play NQ Pangaea with CBP and More Luxuries? Do you have to make these modifications for any map script that isn't customized for More Luxuries?

So I took my own advice and played on a Communitas map with High Sea Level and Wide Rifts. I am on a large map (10 civs) and 7 of us are on 1 continent! Which means, at most, 3 civs are on another continent or various islands.

I would like a map that gives more than just 2 continents, which I figured Small Continents would do. But the last time I tried that, all but 1 civ was on a long, thin, snaky continent together with the lone civ not far away :crazyeye: Maybe I should try Large Islands in my next game unless somebody has a better suggestion . . .

Perfect World 3

That doesn't sound familiar from the in-game list. Do I download it here in the Map Script forum or on Steam (shudder)?

Never mind, I found it here. But do you know if it is updated for Bison and Cocoa?

Communitas is based heavily on PW3 so I see no need to use that script.

You can try the AssignStartingPlots.lua linked here. My guess is that compatibility is only an issue for scripts that meet the described conditions (custom AssignStartingPlots.lua loading after More Luxuries).

Communitas all the way, especially since Gazebo has souped it up a bit, it was too arid under Thal but now it's much better.
I play 8 civs 16 cs on high sea level and always have a real awesome game as it seems that the civs are very evenly dispersed between usually two or three continents and heaps of islands, so there is a real sweet mix of naval and land warfare and heaps of bonus resources too, so lots of trading and diplomacy as well.

Just gonna chime in to say that attorneyatlol gave me his continents++ map and it's all I play now. Seems to be well balanced for any civ and the extra island chains can often be great for mid/late game settling.

@Crdvis16

Do you have a link or could you share the map. I have not been able to find it. Would like to play it.
