Best Internet Security/Firewall/Anti-Virius

Due to experiences with Norton and AVG antivirus, I've begun to loathe the incompetent neanderthals who have come up with the programming for the two programs - quite a lot of stories I can share here. To cut it short, Norton is slow, paranoid and ineffecient while AVG is incompetent - which also, partly, goes for Norton - and dysfunctional. An anti-virus program that can't clean virusses, gets infected itself, or because of horrible programming suddenly f***s up and refuses to update is simply not worth my time.

Currently - and, again, (there was a while when I strayed to try to see if there were any better anti-virus programs) - I am using McAfee, since it has proven to be the best of the three I've tried; even though it isn't all perfect it seems to do its job fairly well, while avoiding to screw up my ports and network totally - although the latter hasn't been working the latest couple of weeks, which may or may not be the result of fiddling with too many features inside McAfee or not... :crazyeye:

Outpost from Agnitum. Great firewall and anti-spyware. And one advantage of a software firewall is that it alerts you when something is calling out, something a NAT firewall does not do. Ya dig, Speedo?

As for Norton... I'd rather have the virii, to be honest. McAfee if you want something idiot proof.

I do an occasionally do a HijackThis scan. Apart from that I just keep an eye on running processes.

I can agree with norton being problematic, several times it's refused to update right, with other problems with it, and tech support was minimal at best in how they could help.

I've been helping someone that I know with some problems on their computer, and they have Panda platinum security and it has done nothing to prevent or help against anything but adware cookies, I had to download anti-spyware from else where to clear it up.

NOD32 is THE best antivirus program, there is no better.

Outpost firewall is one of the better firewall programs.
