What are the best mods? I'm new to CivIII and later want to start d/l some mods.....What mods are the best? Which ones are the most fun or add the most realism to the game?....I don't want to d/l a mod that's going to make the gameplay fake or dull...

Double Your Pleasure
(Conquests Expansion Pack Version)
This mod adds literally tens and tens of new technolgies, units, and adds some new governments as well. It's just as the title describes it.
Rhye's of Civilization
A mod designed to have dates very close to history (ie; discovering the new world in 1492). It's played on a world map and also adds some stuff to the game.
The Ancient Mediterranean Mod
This mod is set in the mediterranean sea, with ancient civilizations in the primitive world. There are some new things such as some ancient civilizations included as well.
Those are my top 3 choices - if you visit the Completed Mods forum, you can see some other great ones.

...I always ask for peoples opinions on mods before I use them because I downloaded mods for Rome Total war and a few of the mods made huge changes to the game that I didn't like and some were really buggy or didn't work right....thanks for the info ill def try these ones out

Sorry about that, Rise and Rule is the Conquests version of Double Your Pleasure...anyways, it is probably the best mod for epic games if you are interested in that...

In addition you should consider a graphics mod. I am fond of my own, but many swear by Snoopy's beautiful mod.

I'm pretty partial to the GOTM mods myself. Not a lot of fussing around with the game play just added units and civ's and the different movement on water. Of course this is for the Vin. CivIII but with the installer that AlanH has made you can now play epic games with it. I especially like to play the Mongols. I love those Mongol hordes.
