There are times when posts are just to enjoyable to neglect and a "like" is insufficient recognition. Since we have posters across many time zones "of the Day" becomes pretty fluid. So regardless of when you are in the 24 hour cycle, when you come across a post that moves you, remind us all of your good fortune and quote it here. No explanation required; the poster and the post should be sufficient. Serialized at 1000 posts.

why , the CIA and the KGB all know him or something . Do not sell CFC short in any case . Everybody worth his salt reads the place .

That was a good post, yes.

We walked three hexes to found our city. In the snow. And it was uphill both ways.

Edit: Actually, probably, back in the day, we walked three squares to found our city.

Our units of space had four sides, not six. And we liked it that way.

Walking 3 squares meant hundreds of miles, not three city blocks like today’s hex. You have no idea.

Checks out. As of Civ4 cities could be as little as two tiles away from each other, in Civ7 a single city sprawls over several tiles

Edit: which is probably what the above commenter was talking about anyway
