Beta 9 Talk

Semi-bugreport: as the French, I conquered, Poznan which gave me 25 stability points instantly. I switched to imperialism a while ago, so I assume it had something to do with this? I've got quite a few cities in this save (Napoleon would be jealous) so I think the game updated the stability bonus at the time I got a new city.

By the way, I shouldn't be at +60 stability at this point of the game. Does someone else find the current system too forgiving? Because this is a rather long game the only civs I've tried so far are Moscow and France (not the hardest to get a large empire), but nevertheless I have the feeling that it should be a bit harder to expand.

This is the combination of Imperialism + French UP that gives you about 50 extra stability points. I will nerf that (cap it).

Here is the save that causes a background prompt in Windows 7 64-bit OS. It happens during the end-of-turn period after you hit Enter. It wants me to insert the disc after the first two cities get plague that turn. Whenever this happens - and it has happened three times so far in my two games - the game seizes up and I have to turn my laptop to sleep and un-sleep to get back to Windows. In other words, it's a flaw. I haven't noticed it with other mods I have played recently, e.g. Planetfall. I can't find any relevant events in the logs.

EDIT: Also, in this game, have I already lost the 1600 UHV in 1534 somehow?

I will look at the UHV, however, there is nothing I can do about windows. I don't have or use windows so there is no way for me to debug this one. The savegame works for me, so the bug is probably OS dependent.

Why was Flanders changed to "Solid" for the Netherlands?

The Low Countries (which the Netherlands represent, or they should) are the Netherlands, Belguim and Luxemburg. The Dutch controlled Holland and Flanders for most of the time.

Stable and Solid give the exact same stability benefit/penalty for your cities. The only question is the foreign cities.Solid Flanders penalizes the Dutch if they don't have all cities in it.

Oh, then it's better to change it back.

Hey guys!
Sorry for my absence, real life took over in the last few weeks.
I lost two grandmothers in 4 days difference, my family is still a little shocked :(
The second funeral was on this monday...

Anyway, I just dropped by to say that I won't disappear from this mod, will be back on modding RFCE soon

Mod's fine. It has died and resurrected so many times that by now I am pretty sure it can take of itself.

You take care of your family.

I was hoping to get a good number of at least bugfixes and release Beta 10 this week, but it will not happen. I am leaving for a conference on Friday and as it always happens with such things, I have a ton of stuff to do before I have to go.

At least for next weekend we can get more bugfixes and new Germany UHV. We should also try to revise the Sweden/Poland/Lithuania/Austria. This region has been neglected for far too long (especially Poland/Lithuania).

Good to see you back, how your family is doing well.

Sounds good. So 3 Miro what's the plan now for France/Burgundy and Germany/Austria?

I'm very sorry to hear that. Please take good care of yourself and your family.

I think I recall several statements that Burgundy doesn't expand into the 'low-lands'
Well not in my games :)

Austria 1: Austria 2:

Dutch:
with Bremen a.d. Ems :)

Genoa:

Portugal 1: Portugal 2:
No Antwerpen in Portugal 2 but there is a burgundian unit on the spot (settler may be planned)
