p2parchive,

I recommend that you reinstall.

Its easy to do a mistake when you install
this scenario.

"This is the updated version of this WW2 scenario to be playable with the new Conquest units.

I have included NO UNIT ART so you must use the units from your Conquest folders.

I did include Civilpedia unit icons and the resource pcx files from the TETurkhan mod.
Also included are updated Civilpedia and PediaIcons files.

To install unzip and extract folder to Civ3\Conquest\Conquest folder.

You now need to copy and paste a few folders.

Go in to your Civ3PTW folder and find the folder called "extras" in it there is a folder
called "World War II" open it and then open the folder caled "Art". You should see a folder
called "Units" copy it. Now paste that folder in to your
Conquest\Conquest\WW2 TheWorld\Art folder.

The next folder is in your Civ3PTW\scenarios\TETurkhan\Art folder find the folder called
units, copy and paste it in the same folder you pasted the first on. (Yes to overwrite all)

Last for the unit folders is in Conquest\Conquest\WWII in the Pacific\Art folder
find the folder called units, copy and paste in the same plase as before.(yes to overwrite)
Now you are done with the units

Go back to your Civ3PTW\scenarios\TETurkhan\Art folder and open
the folder called Civilpedia and then the one called Icons and copy the folder "resources"
You want to paste this in the Conquest\Conquest\WW2 TheWorld\Art\Civilpedia\Icons folder.

You now need to get the latest update of this scenario and put it in your Conquest\Conquest
folder to be able to play a game."

Meateater

If you follow the above and recheck it should load.

If Meateater returns I hope he makes the scenario
stand-alone from TeTurkhan since its obvious that the
current install causes problems.

Meateater,

been a long time, remember me?

maybe you should contact firaxis and try to sell them on the idea of making "expert scenarios?" i like the ones they make, but for history fanatics, WWII scenarios and the like of this size and scope would really sell well, compared to the tiny investment necessary, (namely your salary). i'm sure many creaters would freely give you their stuff just so they could see it sold.

anyway, my offer still stands about webspace. i want to create a one stop shop for CIV3 conquests WWII stufff. scenarios, units, maps, etc... i can get it all hosted, np, and the focus of course would be on what u've made.

hopefully, i can save you some bw expenses. -mdw

Wow it has seemed like I have been gone for longer than just over a month, maybe I was. I got the other stuff in my life taken care of, so that is good, and now I will have some time to continue to work on this scenario and others. Is it going to pay off in the end, time will only tell. That was not the plan, really there was not much of a plan, I just wanted to put the work I was doing up on the net and I was fortunate to recieve the help and support from many people. I thank you all for that.

At about mid month I will be changing web services, so I will need to put up a few new links for the scenario. I am not sure about it yet, or how it is going to work. That is when I would like to start up dating this scenario again.

There are some other things that I have made commitments to also, I need to check on there status also.

Thanks again
Meateater

Meateater,

Welcome back!

Its very positive you that you can resume
work on the scenario again.

if u missed it, i have a standing offer of webspace for your stuff. and its quality, primo space. i also want to build a little page for it. -mdw

Meateater,

I think the most important question now is to get
the scenario on the the track again.
Thus there is a need for a updated playable version, since
the last playable is from November.
I checked version 4.6 today and if one combine the new OOB
with the old I do not think it should take so much time
to get a new version.

Probably most people do not know how much potential there
is in this scenario or how much research-time that have been
invested.

I am looking forward to assist in the process of getting
a new playable version completed.

Rocoteh

i would be happy for a new playable version for civ3conquests..... since it lacks ww2 scenarios here...... :)

The November-version is for Conquests.

As mentioned earlier a new complete version should
not take much time.

I intend to start work on such a version today, and will
later transfer it to Meateater.

Sarevok,

Yes, the scenario really deserves an update.

I hope that will mean that more people will see
how good this scenario is.

On my new computer (Pentium 4, 3 Ghz and 2048 RAM)
load time is 25 minutes and waiting-time between turns
is 10 minutes.

Rocoteh

that is SICK. what a crushing scenario that is.

luckily, by the time you all get the new scenario made, and working nicely with conquests, i shall have built an AMD pci express super computer. (altho, i'll probably top out at a gig of ram)

Sinatra,

Yes, it seems that much RAM is very important
with regard to CIVIII/C3C.

I have worked with the update during the last hour,
and will continue this day.

Rocoteh

I have worked with the scenario the whole day.

Load time is now down to 20 minutes, and more important,
waiting-time between turns is down to 5 minutes.

I will transfer this to Meateater when furher work
has been done, so he can evaluate it.

Edit: PM have been send.

if you're working on the scenario, are u (or meateater) using the latest patch, v1.22?

also, firaxis isn't good at updating their site, here is the link to 1.22:

http://www.firaxis.com/downloads_detail.cfm?file_id=74

meanwhile, at the official civ3 site, they only have v1.20:

http://www.civ3.com/support.cfm

is anyone else disturbed by this?

and again, what patch is this scenario being updated to, and do you think newer patches improves the speed of the game?

Sinatra,

I am using patch 1.20 since 1.22 causes the game
to crash on my computer. For that reason I will abstain
from updating until there is a new patch.
I do not think the newer patches improve game-speed.

I am also disturbed by what you describe above concerning Firaxis. Overall I would like to see a more open and
communcation-oriented policy towards customers from them.

With a marginal cut in cities (Canada,Australia and Africa)
I have managed to reduce waiting-time from 10 to 5 minutes.
This cut in cities will make the scenario better since
these cities made Canada and Australia to powerful.
