I'm starting to see a few barbs too. On the opposite side the territory from where I'm concentrating my army. :( I hope that picture isn't a sign of what's to come.

The barbs are toying with me. 10-15 horsemen moving around my isolated city defended by a single spearman.

I might be mistaken, but by the looks of it there is one single iron resource on our entire continent. I didn't bother that much about getting it at the start as there is usually plenty of it, especially with so much space to spare. BIG MISTAKE!

I'm betting the english are having a field day in their warfare with the romans with their mighty swordmen.

I'd be happy to trade some to you, once I find my second source. ;)

I hope you bear this in mind, when you reconsider this

Looks like I'll have to trade for iron, unless there is some under the little fog i have left to explore near my cities... Then again, there is always war... ;)
GPS turn 49.

I'm playing another huge continents, also 4/4ai, but at Regent difficulty.
On that one I'm swimming in Wine, and everyone has 2-3 luxuries they can trade.

We are in anarchy still. :(

The Romans and Chinese are annoyed with me, despite my embassies with them and trading history. They have more men.

The Babylonians, our trusty research partners, have in the past declared themselves ready to go to war over Iron.

What's a boy to do?

Furthermore, there are rumours of civilisations in the fabled outer lands, of such large populations that they require something, unknown to peasant Albion, called luxuries.

The English content themselves with living in 't shoe-box in 't middle o' road, and nightly lickin' road clean wit' tongue. Now that's what I call luxury...

I think it's just a bum map - at least on our continent. :(

Don't worry, the weak babylonian nation is not fit to fight any kind of war. Can't even keep the barbs at bay.

 100 moves Thank you, everyone

On a more serious note,
and in the interest of total honesty,
I never use
CxxC spacing.

So when this is forced on me,
by neighbouring tribes building that close to my cities,
I get very claustrophobic,
not to say irritated.

There, I've got that off my chest. :(
