'Beta' PTW epic pbem proposed

On the corrupt game. It's a fun game, I think it would be a shame to abandon it at this point. Let's hope it's a rare occurrence.

I have never experienced the bugs you mention bathsheba. Then again, I've never played in a ptw pbem before, and I've only ever finished one C3C pbem (a short scenario).

By the sound of it i'm guessing the bugs you described are actual flaws in the game, not rare occurance, but I'd still vote to keep on playing and then try and find ways around the problems should this be the case.

An IA war led to the game crashing whenever either the pillaging of a luxury square, or the abandoning of a city, resulted in trade deals being broken.

If anyone is in a situation where they are trading a lux, I don't think it would be out of line to pillage your own resource as a test, and then re-load if everything is ok.

The English acknowledge the acceptance by the Babs.
However, we are left with something of an long term issue here.

We earlier advised the Babs that we intended to locate a city on the bridge, securing Wines for ourselves, keeping the barbarian Chinese and Romans at bay, and offering safe passage to all Babs citizens, with the slight proviso - for military - that no more than 2 units at a time would be welcome.

The positioning of the latest Babs city now forces us to either abandon our plans, or live with a situation where cultural pressure will be an unavoidable factor in the game to come. Not being religious, the English have real reason to fear this outcome.

We would welcome Babs comments, possibly privately, on this situation before we commit to our future direction.

The Vikings are still many years away from securing their 1st luxury resource. Scandinavia will also be full of temples.

It's been a long time. I wouldn't begrudge anybody for replacing me if I was gone for such an extended period of time.
