Better Espionage

i dont know if its just me, but for a game with intricate international relations, especially in industrial/modern times, i find espionage significantly lacking a real purpose. i was thinking adding a few things.

Plant Disinformation- you can steal troop plans, why not plant fake ones? or decieve and enemy over the size of your borders, or the size of your cities? youd probably have to have better AI for it to have full effect, but would be good against other human players.

Poison Water Supply- where'd this go? i used to love poisoning suckers who annoyed me.

Attempt Defection- like civ1 where you could bribe other units. the better the unit, the more it costs. id love having enough gold to try and cause an army to defect.

these are just a few. cant be bothered thinking of more. gimme more ideas. im too tired.
 
Some things like city and unit defection were too powerful since diplomats could quickly take over cities as the computer would rarely build its own diplomats as a counter against defection.
 
There should be an huge expansion on the sabotage abilities.
