Better Unit Stats...

I have been playing this again since the 1.21 patch and I am still aggravated at the frequency in which superior units are defeated by inferior ones.

I was curious if anyone out there has a formula for editing the stats of units to help fix this issue?

Try editing it so that more advanced units have more hit points. For example, Ancient units can have +0 hit points, Middle Ages +1 HP, Industrial +2 HP and Modern +3 HP.

While you're at it, you may also want to give your ships, planes and artillery the lethal bombardment abilites (if you haven't already done so). That could make a big difference in combat as well.

Edit it yourself- that's what I'm in the process of doing. The .bic reads anything up to 1000-1000 for attack and defense, so you can make Warriors 10-7-1 or something like that, and still make Modern Armor about 5 times more efficient by raising the stats from what would be 240 for attack to 1000. That way you not only get better accuracy by tweaking things a little, but your more modern units have coefficients for attack and defense, I'm thinking 1.5 for Knight-type armor, 2.5 for Early Gunpowder, 3.5 for Late Gunpowder, 4.5 for tanks and such, and 5 for next-generation armor.

I am so pissed of with the longbowmen.
They are all the enemy civs will ever produce. I played a Earth scenario with realistic starting locations and played as the indians.
I beat first the chinese , capturing all but two of the old world horse resources and used my advantage to kill the germans, egyptians and romans leaving only the zulus, the aztecs and the iroquis. the iroquis killed the aztecs and then had control of the whole of america.
They had the same advaces as me and a source of horses from the zulus. the point I am making is that when I thought I was going to have a satisfing WWII type game, but when I transported all my tanks and infantry over there what was I facing?
More that 50 longbowman units!!! I lost more than 20 tanks to them idiots! (good job I had 40 with artillery and bomber support).

I make the HP
ancient and medieval units minus one HP ( this realy speeds up battles)
Industrial and modern units (including Musketmen) +0 HP

This means that modern games don't take @twenty minuites per turn
