Beyond the Sword installation error code:-5005:0X80070001

I had this game for a long while on my old machine, installed it with no problems. Now I am trying to install it on a new machine... Windows XP .. same Windows I had before and I keep getting this error.

Civ 4 and Warlords are already on. Solved a DirectX problem thanks to help from here. Now I need ya'lls help again.

I am NOT a computer whiz. Just an older woman ..Civilization fanatic since the 90's.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide. Please ... I hope this is something simple I can fix quickly!

The error happens during the installation, right?

Then i'd suspect either the CD drive or the CD itself has some problems.
Can you verify, that the CD is okay with another drive maybe?

Yeah it gets to the point of english language, then starts the process of installation, where it then hangs and gives me the above message.

I've had no problems installing Civ IV and Warlords, except for sorting out the Direct X problem which was easily solved.

No problems with same CD drive installing all my other programs either. Just Beyond the Sword.

No help yet? I sure was hoping someone could help me get Beyond the Sword installed. Anyone out there able to help??
