Hey all,

Finally updating from Vanilla Civ to BTS and was wondering, since I skipped Warlords, whether it was a necessity in order to run 2.31 and what, if any, features I'd lose out on if I've only got BTS (seeing as BTS appears to carry over a lot of features from Warlords to begin with.)

Any tips? Is it something I should run out and buy?

If you have BtS and never had Warlords you are good. The only problem which Warlords can cause is if you DO have it and you uninstall it AFTER you install BtS. (Because if BtS installs and doesn't see Warlords on the computer it provides you with the needed files from it)

Are any of the gameplay elements from Warlords not present in BTS? The one thing I noted not being there was "Vassals" (at least it's not mentioned in the manual) but I'm not sure if BTS quietly puts it in or not.

The only thing missing if you install BtS but not Warlords are the scenarios that came with Warlords. The epic game is exactly the same in Civ4 + Warlords + BtS as it is in Civ4 + BtS. It doesn't matter to FfH either way.

Huzzah! Great to hear.

A post on rpg.net this week brought me back here after I'd put down Civ IV / FFH2.21 last year to prep for a move, professional exam, and job hunt. Remembering how much I'd enjoyed FFH, I ended up upgrading to 2.23 last night because I couldn't wait the full 24 hours it'd take for me to get my hands on BTS. As it stands, it's hard to wait to get home and upgrade all the way.

Thanks for all the hard work. I continue to be amazed at the way FFH completely surpasses my expectations for fan-built mods.
