I'm just curious what is the largest population anyone has had in one of their cities. I believe my largest ever had was 25 with a population of 8,207,000.

I tend to cut my cities off on population when they go past the health cap, so I think the largest cities I've ever had were also in the 23-25 range, but even that size is rare for me. I normally cut mine off about size 18-21.

Well actually the game i'm playing now I have reached a city of 30 with 13 mil population. I find it kinda fun to just see how high I can get a city in games i'm dominating.

And they're still under the health cap so I dont have to worry about that

If you take away the two restrictions to growth (health and hapiness) by building the national park and the globe theater national wonders in one city, a city can grow very very big.
In my current game, I have a 31-sized city. I've built the national park in it, and I''m running the culture slider on 100% for a cultural victory. City can't grow larger anymore only because there's no excess food anymore. Unless I farm the towns, and build widmills on the iron and silver hills..

So if you really dedicated, you should be able to have a 40+ city;)

34.... sushi rules!

34 or 35 is the highest I have acheived in Civ 4 Bts also... can't remember which.
I am working on one right now, it has the Globe and the National Park, so it should grow grow grow... I am about to give it SS, and then of course some merchants. My goal is to beat 35.

This current city is a capture Beijing, funnily enough.

I was able to get up to 36 for a while, but it cost a lot (Sid's Sushi plus buying all the seafood on the market).

I have one at 40 right now, if I top 41 I will post a screen shot... I think it has the potential to do it.
At 40 is like 30M people.

Dude...

Seriously.
Some of my smallest cities were bigger than my rival's largest cities.

I've had a 207k culture, size 34, 15 mil population city as my best.

The culture impressed me, atleast. =D

I can't beat 46 unfortunately, but I'm still proud of my size 41 city - in Warlords. So no corporations. Philosophical leader and 20+ settled great merchants does the trick. I think the city churned out 1000+ gold each round, which is pretty decent without corporations to help.

Omg that would be a GREAT way to make a GP farm buy removing those caps and putting in a Sid Sushi or Cereal mils, and being under the Caste System Civic, it'd just be sick!

The theoretical max (without corps) is probably 120, but you'd need to worldbuild it (20 grassland flood plain irrigated corns w/ biology)
