BIngo Bango, bye-bye Bannon

As crazy speculation:

Assuming that Trump is forced to quit and in exchange for an honorable retreat, that Trump can still claim as a victory for him as martyr to do the right things, the generals and Pence have pressured Trump to start cleaning up, for a smooth non-controversial take over by Pence.

Well, that's hard to predict. The question is whether Breitbart commenters are a representative sample of Breitbart readers. If the ad dollars follow the readers, and the readers are represented by the commenters, than Trump is toast. Commenters accept Trump as 'our blunt instrument' (a little known Bannon quote) but they revere Bannon.
yeah, and Bannon can mouth off with impunity with Breitbart as the vehicle. That'll sell ad bucks. Hell, I'd read his bs.

Apparently one of the senior editors at Breitbart responded to this story by tweeting "this means war!" I'm thinkin' he didn't mean 'on Bannon.'

Funniest tweet so far:

"Trump changed course and removed a confederate monument."
lol

I'd say that the key figure was McMaster. Bannon/Breitbart has been demanding that he be fired in a steady stream for weeks, and in standard Bannon style creating an endless stream of stories about his misdeeds that if Trump believed them would leave no choice but to fire McMaster. When Trump didn't fire him there was no avoiding the conclusion that Trump doesn't believe everything Bannon says. I'd guess Bannon's reaction to that was a downward spiral into a Scotch bottle and eventually he was just too drunk to survive in that pool with the sharks that were out to get him like Kushner, Kelly, and Cohn.

Is Kushner really a shark though?

Interesting... While anything making Trump looking even more of a clown is good, just how likely is this latest firing/resignation to change the WH for the better? Apparently (not bothering to read on him) Bannon was some breitbart leaderhead, and that is an alt-right site, so with him gone who is likely to be second to the Trump?

What worries me a bit is if there will be a power vacuum, let alone what some US figures may do so as to avoid a power vacuum (eg some nice war).

Is there any likelihood of mass riots?
Moreover, is there a danger of a spiral of riots and anti-riots? (eg pro Trump and impeach Trump etc)?

Hm, nevermind that, have a look at this WTH...:

ehm......

Directly as a result of Bannon's ouster? Doubt it. Possible though depending on how the fallout blows around.

I haven't been paying attention, but it seems there are actually many people who are in war-like mood there. Eg Jones was always crazy, but the above video is sinister and scary
And that preacher is really appalling.

not from firing bannon. Now if Trump announces a Joe Arpaio pardon in Pheonix Tuesday, things might get wild.

Me too! I'd definitely take the time to read his sensational,
no holds barred, tell-all paragraph about his time in the White House.

The white nationalists eff'd up and Trump had to punish them. The white nationalists had, up to now, been acting under the unusual-for-them-guise of nonviolent, peacefully demonstrating, getting attacked by antifa and only acting in self defense. This latest march was offensive and the car thing was the example of the wings of their bad bell curve towards hurting people.

Trump's "movie" arc, per Dilbert guy, was supposed to be around now we all started waking up from "Trump's a Nazi" into something less extreme. This was working well, until white supremacists got ahead of themselves.... Bannon's job is to keep them in check, he failed, Trump looks bad like he is soft on racists and can't stop them from Rise Again. Bannon has to go.

It's actually kind of scary. If the nazis turn on him I'm guessing his response will be to invade Venezuela or something.
It took me less than an hour to go from celebrating to worrying about this. The one thing the ethno-nationalists did seem sincere about was keeping the US out of foreign entanglements. Trump got authentic blowback for his (relatively mild by recent American standards) bombing of the airfield in Syria. With the last check against foreign warmongering gone, Trump will probably go looking for a foreign war. Not Venezuela, though; someplace Islamic.

This isn't the dynamic that worries me; what worries me is that Trump's increasing political isolation leads to desperate action to shore up his position.

Yes, that's in the mix for me too. He has no political (or moral or psychological) moorings. And neither do the main people left over, Jared and Ivanka. Kelly won't assert his, if he has any, would be my guess. So I fear Trump's presidency will grow increasingly impulse-driven. The factions and infighting were at least keeping him effectively ineffectual.

Yep. He had a buffer of people essentially competing for his loyalty like a royal court between him and the hostile outside world.

I wouldn't be that surprised if rhey turned on Bannon instead.

The good thing is I don't see Bannon shutting up, so this will likely expose some deep Trump crazy.
Bannon has been running Breitbart from the White House. He lives in their Washington offices. Seriously, that's his home. He "resigned" from the administration, not Breitbart. There is zero chance that Breitbart turns on him.

For the record, Breitbart has announced the hiring of Steve Bannon as Executive Director and that he chaired their evening editorial meeting.

I saw that on CNN. This is gonna turn into a total circus

Bannon was unable to keep the white nationalists in check and it made Trump look bad. Not bad according to the people who want him to look bad, who see it everywhere, but bad among the people who dismiss the people who want him to look bad.
