black screen

Hi there

When I start civilization III it doesn't work! The screen goes black and starts clicking.....
I trie to run it under windows XP, so maybe that's it?!
Does anybody know a patch to change this or has anybody other ideas please help!!

When does it go black? At startup? Do you see the intro video? If not, it could be either a memory problem, or your video card. What kind of video card do you have? Also, make sure you have DirectX 9.x, and the XP updates.

Add the following lines to your civilization3.ini file:

KeepRes=1
VideoMode=1024
Refresh=x

where x is the refresh rate of your monitor
