I am hearing alot of complaints about people getting a blank screen after the opening video. I myself am having the exact same problem with Civ III Complete.
I've tried updating my drivers, changing my resolution, disabling 3rd party applications etc... (everything that the as-yet-unhelpful faq recommends and more) I've been playing with it for ages it seems!
Oddly enough, I had the exact same problem a few months ago when I tried to install Tropico and play it. The opening video worked fine, and then the screen would go blank while the music played merrily along
Thankfully the help for that game was a little bit more extensive and they provided a shortcut key to change the resolution within the game. (ie: a shortcut to the preferences/resolution) IT WORKED.
I was wondering if anybody who CAN see the menu in the game could let me know if there is a preference for the resolution in the menu and exactly how to get there with the keyboard? It might sound like a stretch but it worked before and I would love to try it. (It might help everybody else on this board as well who has the exact same frustrating problem...)
If anybody else has any insight I would love to hear...
