I sometimmes use it as well but I play the extended game on ToT quite alot so I usually don't have it on...On the extended game you have to go to AC if you want to win the game.

It depends...

Sometimes it's fun to see Civ II in a different point of view, such as a pure militaristic game. So i don't have to worry about the space race which is extremely tense. But i normally incorporate bloodlust into my Alpha Centauri space game, space race, module victory thingy... by the time I finnish the G.S.S. Alexander most civs are already conquered

I never have, but I will. Whenever I play against an expantionist, I build up a huge army, but no matter how many cities I capture, There are always more! Soon, they send the ship, it comes back, and I finish the game having lost many units defending the cities that I have captured deep in enemy territory, and a tarnished reputation.

I love bloodlust. I cant be bothered with all thet spaceship fiddling when you can build up a big old army of battleships, nukes, howitzers and helicopters and destroy everyone. It's also good fun to go on one of the lower levels and smash everyone before 1AD. he he

I occasionally use it if I want to annoy myself, but rarely. Without it, I have more options towards the end of the game. e.g. at the end of the game I have conquered all but 1 civ. after building apollo's, I find that the one remaining civ has 50 cities that I hadn't noticed (I usually play large map and can't be stuffed exploring the whole thing :) ). I don't have enough time to smash their defence's, so I build a space ship and send it before my time run's out. This way I end up with a larger score than if I attempt to destroy the remaining civ (Which I try to do Anyway) :goodjob:

From the beginning of the game I play a race against
the AI.In the middle ages, only 4 civs remaining with a maximum of 3 or 4 cities,it is easier to control them.
Once they are territorialy controled,I can develop my population
in a large map
It is very rare even in deity that there are more than 2 units
(Infantry&stealth fighter) per city
I try to win on the economic war.I just have to use spies
instead of military units(except paratroopers).
If the Ai is in democracy, then I use sabotage(temple cathedral
market) then the government collapses the city is twice
cheaper;).
If the spy is not captured your reputation is not altered... :nuke:

I am suprised that the votes are so spread out...Yes has 5, Sometimes has 6 and No has 6 votes.

I always use it. the game never gets close to space flight - all those tanks running about ;)

Bloodlust is too strict, I like having the choice of how to win.

I voted sometimes, but I have really only played bloodlust twice. In actuality, while I don't toggle bloodlust on, I do play for conquest, keeping the spaceship option available ust in case that last civ city is just too far to reach by the end of time.

In the beginning I allways ended up building a spaceship, but then I forced myself to conquer the world with bloodlust mode. Now I allways end up conquering the world. It's easier now, since I conquer the enemies before they get nukes, but before I had to eradicate my enemies center empire in one turn to avoid the counter nuke attack:(

Yup, I do, as I find the space ships thing anti-climatic.

I voted 'sometimes', but like Ace, I typically play standard rules and just beat up the AI.
