Blu-Ray/HD DVD war ends...

So...are all you HD product owners pissed off or what? I know one of my friends has an HD DVD player and probably won't be too happy about this!

I still have DVD standard (I'm not getting technical with +, -, and +- ), both on my laptop and a DVD player.

How soon are we going to expect some sort of player (and CD-DVD drives) that would have backwards capability that can still play HD DVD and Standard DVD? Because I hate to see the repeat of the Betamax, the Cassette tape (Both the VHS and Compact Cassette), and the 8-track tape.

BTW, DONT we have a duplelacate thread somewhere in the Sci & Tech forum?

Don't throw out your HD-DVD players yet! They'll be as rare as 8-Track players and you'll sell them for lots of money on eBay 2!

Unless they start making DVD players (and Drivers) that would be able to be backwards compatible with older DVDs such as the Standard (pre-HD) and HD .
