Blue screen when verifying integrity of game cache

I always have to verify the local game cache before beeing able to play Civ V with different mods. That's sort of OK with me. But since yesterday my PC crashes to blue screen when about 10% has been checked. I can play the game, but it crashes after a few minutes.
Any suggestions?
