One thing i like about Sid Meier's games are the awesome books (game manuels, if you wish) that come along with the games. I was kinda disappointed in the book i got for Civ 3 Gold, because of the fact i have the Gettysburg book and the Alpha Centauri book. Civ 3 just seemed to skim the top and not care about going into detail. Im hoping the new book (if any) wont be a disappointment.

Am i the only one that feels this way?

I would like this, but I realize the real issue with them. The issue is that they will be out of date by the time the game comes out. The manuals must be sent to the printers about 3-4 months before the game is complete to get them ready in time. A lot of changes can be (and are) made in the final few months of a game development cycle.

I agree with Warpstorm. In fact, that is generally the reason for including readme files that come with the actual copies of most games, rather than simply incorporating the readme information into the manual, because the readme (latest) information simply did not exist at the time the manual had to be printed.
