Any chance there is an option to start civ without the intro video loading?

Yes there is. You have to go into your settings, C:\what ever your name is\where ever you civiliazation folder is\ then look for your .ini file. Under video intro, change it to 1 or 0.

Sorry I can't remember the exact location. I believe if you do a search you will find the exact path and number to put it.

All you will get is a black screen for about a minute or so depending on how fast your computer is, so it's still loading, just no indication of it though.

*edit* You have 2 differnet Civ location files. Not the one with the main files, but like the other one, in my games or something like that.

Navigate to My Documents/My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization V/

Look for the file "Usersettings.ini" and open it in a text editor like Notepad

Search for the variable "SkipIntroVideo = 0"

Change the 0 to 1

I would suggest not doing this because I did this and it worked fine for a day or two but then one time I loaded it and all of the words disappeared from main menu...

When you've changed "SkipIntroVideo = 1", and loaded it up again, you'll realize the reason why they've hidden this option in a file and why they had the video anyway. The video hides the long game load, during which you'll now just see a black screen.

In fact, i think turning off the intro video actually makes the game loading faster... at least i feel this way after i turned it off..

Any chance you could have searched this forum for your answer before posting a new thread? This has been answered a least a dozen times in separate threads just like this one already.
