Hi, i am new to the site but not to the game :) Anyway,

It has always annoyed me that there is no way to view the borders of the map when I am in globe view, besides the "toggle cultural borders". Like on the mini-map/radar in the lower left corner: with precise borders. Is there some button I never noticed or is there any mod that lets me see these borders?

Thanks :)

The :culture: icon should display borders, just like the :religion: icon shows the spread of various religions, and the other icons above the mini-map show distribution of various other things like military, resources, etc.

yes i know, this is what i described in the first post as cultural borders. but using that toggle doesn't give precise borders. Well it does, but as you know the colors of each nation/empire mixes up with the other(s).

for example, if Russia (red) and the Incas (yellowish) should settle beside each other, the area around the border would be orangish rather than a clear seperation between red and yellow. see what i mean?

Ah well then, there is no clear distinction of borders... :-)
When you have BUG mod I believe, holding control or shift while hovering the mouse near a border will show you how much (the percentage of) that tile is yours and how much it is another CIVs.
(Or it might just be one of the options you can enable, "map details" or some such.)

When in Globe view, and the colour is "mixed" it means the border is in contention, and may flip.
When you see that blocky plaid type pattern, the border is in flux, it may currently be yours, but if your neighbour is outpacing you with culture, it will soon become his/hers.

A tile will only be a solid colour when it is 100% "owned" by a given CIV, once it is 100%, the colour itself will deepen the more culture it has.

I recommend getting the great BUG mod. The latest version 3.6 has a slider that lets you adjust the field of view so that you can zoom out and still see the borders clearly.
