Use this thread to tell us what happened in your game, up to 1AD

Did you take the challenge of deity, or did you go for the easier life and take the adventurer save? How are your relations with the AIs? Any wars? Are you even still alive?

Reading Requirements
If you are participating in BOTM 180, then you MUST NOT read this thread unless EITHER
  • You have reached at least 1 AD in your game, OR
  • You have submitted your entry

Posting Restrictions
  • Do not disclose ANY events or information gained post 1 AD.
  • Do not reveal your final result if that happened after 1 AD.

no chance to win this, but still better than expected :)

It looks like I'm in pretty similar shape as jerza, except my NE city (Chartes in the pix above) got culture flipped by Wang (grrr) a couple turns before its first border pop, and I settled even farther to the NE, beyond the mountains on the coast, to get the fur. I have simmering plans for revenge against Wang, but for now I have my eye on Cyrus, who seems like an easier, though still difficult, target. It'll be awhile before I can launch a war, though. I have 7 cities, pop 47, and just got Music for the free GA. I'm 5th (of 6 discovered) in score around 700, vs 1100 for Mehmed, who has been beating up Caesar and will likely vassal him. I feel like I have a chance in this game, which means the real Deity players will be mopping up by ~500 AD.

I bravely decided to give the Deity save a try. By 1 AD, I have seven cities and I'm getting along with all of my neighbors, although Cyrus and WK are at war.

Let's see if I can make a Cuir rush work at this level.

I crashed and burned trying to steal Workers from Cyrus at the start of the game.
My 2 Warriors in the forest were simply overwhelmed because Cyrus' capital had a barracks and Combat 1 Archers. :o

Who knew that a horde of Immortals was so hard to deal with!?
Anyway, my defense plan hinged on keeping my road open, and Cyrus was able to attack, kill my sacrificial warrior, and pillage my road all in the same turn with 1 Immortal responsible for halting 3 spear builds.
Darn things can defend in forests too.
Spoiler :

Not enough time to play this, too much was spent on 179.
Thanks for the map, was a super fun 2 hours. :)
