Hmm, I went further north, leaving the Pig for a later Copper city. New York got the shrine, Wall Street and the Heroic Epic. My National Park was at the mouth of the northern river, with eight forests, and the National Epic.

I put New York where Dr Ekplektikos put Washington for the iron. It never really became a massive city but did lots of odd jobs for the civilization .

I put New York @ 3 NE+2N of Washington (which was on the Horses) near Wheat & Pig. It became my Holy City (Islam) and later my Wall Street city.

I founded there because I had started fog-busting to the NE, had not discovered the Iron location yet, and didn't want the Holy City in the Capitol. Third city/Boston got the Iron site.

20/20 hindsight: maybe should have let the religion go to Washington, and moved the Capitol later to a better (more centralized) location.

I settled New York north of the settler start for the Corn, Wheat and Crab to fuel a Caste and National Park GP farm. Maybe Dr. E did the same?

Wow, great minds think alike eh... I had computer problems and so wasn't able to complete or submit , but I settled both Washington and New York in exactly the same positions as you.
