boycott of civ 4 in UK NOW!

You mean, prirating it? To protest the delay of a game by one week - One week - you are going to engage in criminal activity?

My opinion of you has sunk even lower.

I engage in criminal activity every day because I can't wait 15 seconds for the pedestrian light to change so I can cross the road. Not being able to wait one week sounds like an enternity when you put it in that perspective. ;)

yes but its sad it happens alot with Firaxis.

And this delay is probably ontop of the already later release in europe, so compared to US release there is a greater gap, so when those people are all sharing there fun stories and palying multiplayer, rest is waiting.

Reminds me a bit of elementairy school, where you had 1 group of people with the latest toys that clustered together and had alot of fun, and the 2nd group was juz watching group 1 have fun.

Not to relate this to childish behaviour, but i think u can imagine how bad that felt.

I am really pissed off at Firaxis and Take2. Making us wait even longer, which is really not necessary. They did the same thing with civ3 and as a result I didn't buy it.

All UK people boycott Civilisation 4, don't buy the game. They don't support us fans, we don't support them in return......

Flame me if you will but thats my part. If we don;t buy the game then the next time it comes around, they won't be so quick to leave us waiting..

I really don't understand your logic. "GRR! THEY'RE MAKING ME WAIT AN EXTRA WEEK SO I WILL SHOW THEM BY MAKING MYSELF WAIT FOREVER!"

Seriously, what?

Hahahahhahaha! What a whiny, useless idiot!

I understand your anger, but I would make darn sure you know the reason for the delay before doing something like this. There's a lot of hoops to jump through to get a game released, especially internationally (and especially when companies like Rockstar Games are bringing political scrutiny into the mix).

Considering that I worked as a game developer several years back (released 1 commercial game), I would have been especially offended if fans of my game had threatened to boycott simply because my company was given a sudden stack of forms and regulations that would unfortunately push the release back a few more days.

Don't point the finger too quickly, just make sure you're anger is directed at the correct party. And it's only a few more days.

EDIT: and I won't have mine today even though I'm in the US, I opted for the free 3-day shipping vs. overnight. Doh! ..just a few more days heh

Of course not, he intends to pirate it and get limitless joy for years to come for free due to the horrible few extra days of waiting take2 had to make him go through. Pretty harsh punishment I must say. It's really just a lame excuse he has thought up so he can get it for free. It won't look too impressive two years from now when he's still playing it in full addiction saying "I HAD TO WAIT AN EXTRA WEEK FOR IT SO I'M NOT BUYING IT!"

Elementary school was 20 years ago for me...

I think crossing a red light technically only counts as a misdemeanor...

What a clown.

Well if it also means he won't post here anymore I can only say :goodjob:

Calling for a Civ4 boycott is like standing in front of a cattle stampede saying "Stop" except with less hope of success.

A week isn't too long, but i am just psshed off now. Maybe it will be shifted back to the 28th...

I am annoyed too. So much, that I REFUSE to buy this game until they release it. Let's see them get out of that one!

Can't seem to understand the slow take up of games companies to roll out their releases via the net.

Oh dear! Delays are so evil, they are obviously out to screw us! Those vile villains, so devious in their plotting! How dare they! The root of all wrongs in the world!

Like, WTH?

My opinion: civ4boycottthreads=trolling. What the hell are you doing on this forum if you are not into the game?

I plan on getting it elsewhere.... nuff said. I am tired of this.

Jeez, what has our civilization come to? People just don't have patience anymore. All this anger for no reason just leads to the dark side - being a childish and angry barbarian....

And what? your memories dun go back that long? :mischief:

Oh adn this delay might also result in another delay..and another..and another...

happend before with games, even games from Firaxis. Europeans got as muhc moeny as Americans to spend on games perhaps even more. And first off the "release in US then in europe over a week later" is pretty damn anoying. I wouldnt go as far as to boycot the whole game, thats juz cutting my own hand.

But i think Firaxis should hear the complaints and that people are not happy with delays. Whats wrong? Cant say they messed up? then they'll enver try and fix it in the future if they think its all fine and dandy to keep alot of people waiting.

Well, if you do something which you should not mention on a public forum, at least have the decency to buy the game later when the game is available where you live.

It would be the right thing to do.

If no one buys it at all they wont bother releasing it there anymore and you hurt yourself in the long run.....
