Bridges over ocean

Maybe bridges should be able to be made over ocean, for a certain amount of tiles, and for coastal cities, a new wonder should be able to be built to connect cities over islands, the 7 Mile Bridge, when built, it will make a bridge over islands near that city to connect other cities, allowing units to cross. This should only be possible when you hit the modern era. Normal bridges over ocean should also allow units to cross.

Possibly late in the game you should be able to build a bridge over one coastal tile (not ocean, though), or a tunnel underneath it. I can see that working without being too overused (of course, there'd be a higher cost involved than with a regular railroad). But I don't think it should really extend any further than that. A bridge going over multiple tiles doesn't seem to me to fit into the scale of the game.
