So long time civ series player. Still love and play Civ 4 w/ mods (Rise of Mankind - A New Dawn is amazing).

Civ 5 vanilla was not for me (personal preference). Most people on the forums (in my opinion) seem to say Civ 5 + G&K + BNW is really great. :)

My question - what mods would you recommend for Civ 5 to bring that "just one more turn, stay up all night" feeling? Specifically looking for mods that bring added complexity and depth of play.

Not looking to rehash civ 4 vs. civ 5 (plenty of other threads). Instead looking for mods to help an old civ 4 player enjoy civ 5 more :)

Thx!

Smart AI mod improves Civ5 combat AI, CivIV Diplomatic Features improves diplomacy (unfortunately both mods aren't compatible with each other but maybe in the future it will change ;) )

There are many VERY HIGH QUALITY awesome custom civilisations http://forums.civfanatics.com/forumdisplay.php?f=399 - check especially threads: More Civilisations, Patria Grande, Colonialist Legacies, JFD's Civilisations

http://www.picknmixmods.com/main/home/home.html - many little awesome tweaks and fixes, compatible with Civ IV Diplomatic Features

Info Addict - must have, lot of additional statistics ;)

Reform and Rule - great balance mod of Social Policies

Yet Another Earth Maps Pack - Earth maps with historical starting locations and customizable nations

Historical Spawn Dates [does not support custom civilisations]

Emigration - introduces awesome 'Emigration' mechanic

Health and Plague - introduces awesome plagues mechanic

Corporations

Ethnic Units

Quick Turns

Uhm... Check my signature, maybe you will like something from my own mods ;)

It does, same way as with YnAEMP, the author of the custom civ can add a spawning date to the table used by the mod.

Thanks for these!! Started playing and already found it way better than vanilla Civ 5 (which was personally a turn off for me (not trolling)

I really like the "Reform and Rule" pack that changes all of the policy trees. Can't see going back to non-modded Civ, actually.
