Broken CD drive...

Would someone be able to give me a no CD-crack if I can proove I bought the game? My CD drive broke, and the next time I get one will be when I buy a new PC entirely, which might be a few months. If I can give a serial number or something, is there some official crack that I can get from the developers or something similar? I know some games have done this.

If you can convince Atari or Firaxis to give you one,

It has been done before, but I don't know what they require.

I would try Atari Tech Support, first. There should be a link to their site stickied here in this forum.

Alright, I sent it through the Atari technical support form. I just discovered that I don't have the box anymore, though, so I hope I can prove I've got it with just the disks and the case.

Just buy a new CD drive. I had the same problem, but I got one at best buy for a reasonable price (25$). You could probably install it yourself if you know anything about computers. If not, bug someone you know into doing it,

The thing is, my computer was made by blind taiwanese monkeys, and it's impossible to put a new drive in, so until I get a new PC I won't be getting a new CD drive. I'll have to chainsaw the damn thing open to get my video card out.

Well... I got an email back from Atari, and (in broken English I might add), they told me no such crack existed.
