Yeah maybe....Phew I just hope I can make good units and not screw up. If you know of some tutorials for bryce or daz studio

Go to the tutorials thread. Begin with Bryce, since you have that.
To use DS, you will need to learn DS and then adapt the poser tutorial.
But, if you begin with Bryce, you can follow the tutorials directly and not try to adapt things you do not understand to a program you do not know yet.
Once you learn Bryce, you will learn the system of how units are made. They are all made more or less the same way. Camera angle, lighting, frame size/image size, render out to BMP files, convert to a storyboard, do the palette convert to a FLC.
And, if you later make units with DS, you will be working with a process you understand and should have an easier time getting the hang of it. And, of course you can then write the much needed "how to make units with DS tutorial".

Haha. That's a pretty far away time for me to write a tutorial but hey--I wouldn't mind making a tutorial if I'm good enough.

There is no easy way to use bryce 5 or 5.5 as a modeler for Blender.
But, you can use Bryce as a format converter where you load LWO, COB, or one of the many other formats Blender does not support in to Bryce and export it as a OBJ which blender can import.
But, it is so much easier to animate in Bryce that to use blender for the same task is rather pointless. Using blender as a modeler is do-able and then import in to bryce to animate. That makes more sense than the opposite.

great thanks! v Actually I was hoping to find a way to bring wrymshadows stuff into Civ4.
Since Wyrmshadow is not posting the starting models but rather the finished unit how do you plan to do that?

This can not be done. Civ3 units do not include geometry info, while this is what Civ4 units would need. And, since Wyrmshadow hates Civ4, I doubt he will hand over 1000's of man hours of sweat tears plus a lot of those models he purchased and so can not share.
Strange to be making plans for the use of someone elses stuff, without first talking to the man.

Actually I did PM Wyrm about it, but he replied here.
I was going to do the geometry and give him proper credit. I have no issue with people modifying my stuff. But since Wyrm does then I'm on to something else, it was worth a shot since he does nice models and I was happy to try and keep some of them fresh with Civ4. oh well.

You were gonna "do the geometry" Oh wow, you must me like the greatest modeler no one ever heard of. Have you ever modeled anything before, or was the modeling on these 2000 (give or take) units gonna be your first? Do you even know what you were saying?? "do the geometry" that is the modeling. You know making the MESH. If you can model a couple of 1000 units, you don't need Wyrmshadows help. You can just go ahead and "do the geometry", sell them and hire wyrmshadow to get them in to the game of your choice. I figure the proceeds from a couple of 1000 meshes ought to cover his salary for a year or two.

The models that I use.. are literally 1000x more detailed than anything Civ4 can handle. The detail that Civ4 needs is attainted using detailed textures rather than models. It's like asking a scale modeler to donate his works so you can make paper airplanes.

Yeah I think yours use too many polygons for civ4. Anyways, I found what I wanted a low polygon of a plane I wanted that you did. Cost me only $15. Thanks for the info though. I'm on to something else.

I was not trying to be rude, but I have never seen you share a simple mesh. And, so the the absurdity of a new (or non) modeler suddenly modeling 1400+ meshes made me lose some coffee. So what have you modeled and what modeler do you use?

I've been making leaderheads for civ4 and wanted to try units. I model with blender. I've started with modifying existing leaderheads and (slowly) moving into creating more and more 3D objects. I wanted to try units.

I have tried to dowload Bryce by the addres you write, but the program in not longer available. I have tried to dowloat it from Daz3D site but I dont'find it. I have tried to dowload DAZ Studio 2.0 that is for free but I cannot register it because the confirmation mail does'not arrive to me. I have tried to contact the costomer support but my mails return to me. What is the problem? Anyone as an idea?

5.0 is gone. But, you can not get 5.5 for free from downloads.com. use the search function. I already own a copy of 5.5, but I tested the free thingy and it works just fine (got a lic and everything).

My problem is that I cannot register me at DAZ3D.com. I send an email by clicking to contact us but I receive a response that they cannot replay to me because they dont'have my email registerd. But if I cannot register me, how is possible that they have my email? Mystery of the world! So I have decided to buy Poser 6, but if I want download Daz Michael 3 for free the problem return. I cannot register al DAZ3D.com. But Michael 3 is for free so I think its'nothing bad if someon that already have this model can share it with me.
There is someone that want share Micheal 3 with me- If there are no legal problems? Thanks.
