a few things after playing a few rounds.
- It probably wouldn't be very hard to set the main menu BG to the same as the loading screen, and it would look cooler.
- I tried a couple rounds on a small map/noble/normal and it seems fairly difficult, maybe the improved AI's, but usually by the time you get to the 2nd or 3rd civ, they already have curiassiers (sp) and even musketmen defending their cities... its really tough.
- I also tried a few rounds on a small map/prince/normal and it actually seemed easier. Is the camp unit supposed to have a strength of 100 at this level? I think it was a strength of 4 on noble. Anyhow he was my sole reason I did so well... just move in and let the AI's attack my 100 strength camp until they wear themselves down, then I move in and kill.
Playing on prince, I managed to completely wipe out England and Mali, but by the time I got to Hammurabi he had gunpowder weapons and I didn't stand a chance... I couldn't even peacefully pillage areas where I had already killed everything, cause the curiassiers just kept coming and wiping out my horse archers/chariots.
- It would be nice to give the camp unit the ability to gain promotions... I had like 40 experience I couldn't use.
- It would also be nice to allow a few more units for the barbarians, say perhaps up to pikes, maces, and knights, of course for much more cash than the other units.
Also probably un-related to the mod changes, but I had this 1 war elephant that just kept killing my spearmen.... I had em out in the open, and damaged from killing one of my spears the round before.... so I attack with a spear, he dies, ok, attack again... another spear dies... attack again... another spear dies....
I watched and cried as 1 war elephant killed 4 spears in 2 rounds all by his lonesome....
just a testament as to why it would be very nice to add in pikes and the like...
Great job on the mod
Edit: Also not sure how much your wanting to change from the original if at all, but someone made a pretty cool barbarian horseman, to be used as a UU for barbarians... could give the mod even more appeal perhaps...
