[BtS] DIPLOMACY: a mod for Diplogames!

Hey Madman, I was wondering if there was any way you could put another Francesca on that Frankish flag/button so its in the form of an X. The only reason I ask is because it looks pretty similar to the Persian flag (in its general form and concept) and I was going to release the mod with my selected flags and colors and then put out the alternate flag/color settings in a different file so people can customize them. So in the initial game Persia will have the scimitar but the alternate flag will be available with the add-on file.

I guess that was more information than you needed, but if you could make an X out of two Francescas I think that would look cool.

I'm replacing the flag comp right away, with the new Frankish flag!

P.S. Remember that the Austrian and Frankish colors are switched, so that Austria has the BTS HRE button.

Thanks a lot, I'll try to remember but it will probably be a while before the mod is finished and I'm making the "regular" version first (before the Deluxe version so I can trouble-shoot since the Deluxe is just going to have the extra civs, in fact I might even just release the Deluxe edition as a patch) so hopefully I can remember that the colors are switched.

Since that's happening I am going to upgrade some of the modules. For instance I am going to update Module Pack I and try to have it up sometime this week.

I'm going to get some diplotext XML going now!

Who's going to Rome, by the way?

Who's going to Rome, by the way?

Right now the roster is going to be Julius Caesar, Augustus Caesar, Marcus Aurelius and for the fourth spot I am not entirely sure. I am going to use Pencilgod's LH and my ideas so far are for Marius, Scipio or Trajan. If I go with Trajan I'll probably retexture the armor (because he's an emperor, so he should at least be wearing some nice armor). I am leaning towards a Marius or Scipio because it would represent the Republican period.

While I am awaiting a few things to start on the mod I am working on upgrading the module packs. I am going to redo the Hermann von Salza LH, and I am adding a second leader to Nubia. I am also removing Balbazer from Phoenicia. I am not sure if I am going to try and make phoenician units at this point, but we'll see. Once I finish the Kamehameha fix (see my leaderhead gallery) and make Salamasina I will release Module Pack III, but that might take some time. I am adding Amanishakheto to Nubia, I just reskinned pencilgod's Nefertiti because I wanted to use the LH since its so good but Egypt already has four leaders. Here she is with the Nubian skinning and I think she looks pretty good. Wonder if she likes cream in her coffee :p

If it's between Marius and Scipio, then I go with Scipio, due to the presence of Hannibal.

I wanted to know whether Marcus Aurelius was still there.

I did not change the colors for Nubia.

Funy, I was thinking about giving her dark skin for a second nubian leader too :) I certainly look forward to your version :D

I like the Nubian queen. Only two questions: 1) Can you fix the slight separation between her hair and head that shows up in the existing Egyptian model? and 2) Would it be possible to give her her own hat or significantly retexture it so that she no longer looks like she belongs to Hatshepsut's civilization? (Even simply removing the snake, and changing the height/width might be enough.)

I haven't seen it in-game yet so I'd have to take a look at it first.

I considered this actually and after reading this I looked around for images of a Nubian Queen and honestly dude they are all dressed like Egyptians. So I probably won't change the head-dress.

Well, I made the XML for all the Diplomacy leaders I've made text for, but we still need text for the following leaders.

Amanishakheto
Amenhotep III
Andranik
Askia Muhammad
Basil II
Bernardo O'Higggins
Christian IV
Dido
Hermann von Salza
Hiram
Ho Chi Minh
José Martí
Margrete
Mursilis
New Roman Leader
Ogedei Khan
Robert the Bruce
Salamasina
Sejong of Korea
Smoke Jaguar
Sonni Ali
Stefan Stambolov
Suppiliuluma
Taharqa
Tamerlane
Tigranes
Urho Kekkonen

Well, I think that's everybody now...

Well to help you out a bit here is a list of leaders who we actually don't need diplomacy texts for (at least not now) because their civs won't be made until after the new mod comes out. I have also listed the civs just so you guys know...

Andranik (Armenia)
Bernardo O'Higgins (Chile)
Mursilis (Hittites)
Suppiliuluma (Hittites)
Tigranes (Armenia)
Tamerlane (Timurids)

Now, I may wind up adding these civs to the deluxe edition once it is ready. But keep in mind that the deluxe edition is coming out AFTER the regular version. I think I have explained this but the reason is simple; the Deluxe edition just has added civs, which is relatively easy to do. If I release the regular version first (which will have the base civs that Diplomacy has, as well as Polynesia) I can see if anyone reports any problems with it so I can fix them for the Deluxe edition. But they will be made, and actually I might just add them to the Deluxe version anyway. I guess my main point is this; work on these guys last.

I'm also nearly finished up the new Phoenician set, which I think looks really cool now. I still have to add Hungary's units, fix up Hermann von Salza, take out Balbazer, add Amanishakheto to Nubia, make a couple of Teutonic units (cuirassier/musketman), add in the new flags and then I'll put up the new version of Module Pack 1. The Nubian units by Bakuel are in and they look pretty sweet, I forgot to take a screen shot.

Also; Madman you didn't make a new flag for the TO did you?

Well, no I didn't make a flag for the TO. What happened? Is the TO flag not a decal?

No its fine, I just remember you had asked what the colors were for the TO and I figured you were making a new button or flag or something. It was just a question.

I haven't been involved with Civ much anymore and only quick scims at OT here at CFC, but I still figured I stop in and see how the mod was going. Is it done or released yet? How are things since the new patch (which I've yet to update to) came out?

The first version of the mod, for 3.17, is all finished up save for the last module pack.
After that, there'll be a new version of the mod which should be a bit more user friendly (right now it's a big memory hog and crashes if you reload a map, reload a saved game, or start a 2nd game. Or randomly during the industrial era.)

Here's some diplotext for Hermann Von Salza.

Nice Von Salza diplomacy text there. I also started on Ptolemy. What do you think of the mock-up so far? I tried to give him a mix of Hellenic and Egyptian attire.
