I am running XP Media Edition. No Vista problems here... just a game core DLL most likely.

downloaded twice, unrared, extracted to mods folder, same error and ctd. the folder looks like my other mods (3 folders: assets, public maps, CvGameCoreDLL; plus .ini and .bak files ) and everything seems to be in its right place. i am also running on XP pro, plenty of ram and room... any ideas? the mod looks great, so i hope we can get it up and get it on...

So sorry for the delay, I have not abandoned my mod, I'm at law school and work for the District Attorney, these past 3 weeks I've had several cases and had to restart school (in my final year).
I'm currently planning to download a working mod, copy the relevant files and forward the new mod to some testers. I can only theorize that I somehow screwed something up, but I'll be darned if I know where, believe it or not it works perfectly on my compy.

Yeah, having Khomeini as an Arab is incorrect, and it might be offensive to certain people (considering the Iran-Iraqi war). But other than that in my mod I have Harun al-Rashid and Abu Bakr as second and third arab leaders. Ekmek made a good Abu Bakr and I used the Idris leaderhead as Harun al-Rashid.
Regardless of whether Khomeini is Arab or not (which he isn't) I think these two would make better second leaders of Arabia than he would based simply on their historical impact.

This looks like a very interesting mod. I'm only sad that I happened to find it on the day FileFront is closing. So, I have to ask, are there plans to host it elsewhere? I'd really like to give this one a try.

Not a big deal but I wanted to mention that the name Carlos V is a little incorrect. If you are using him as a Spanish leader he should appear as Carlos I. If you wanted to make him both a Spanish and HRE leader Charles V is fine, or Karl V. But it should either be Carlos I, Charles I (Spain), Charles V (general name or HRE), or Karl V (HRE). Carlos V makes no sense at all really unless of course it was the Spanish text version for the HRE version. But for Spain it should be Carlos I.
