I created a Hamachi Network called "FallFromHeavenBTS" if anyone wants to join. My hope is this will let players who have the BTS version play without having to search for who has BTS and who does not (when version .25 comes out comes out I mean). Also this will give more room for people to see other possible players (I hate that limit of where you can join).

The password is "ffh."

Thats cool, but just as a warning I suspect major OOS issues with 0.25. Its going to occupy the bulk of my time after 0.25 comes out.

What exactly will cause those issues? Because I can ignore the OOS text personally, but if it is a major issue then I guess it isn't worth it.

Every computer in a multiplayer game syncs a checksum which is generated from the world state from its perspective. If all the comptuers have the same view of the world those numbers will match. If they dont then you get the OOS error.

So they are caused by something happening in the game that wasn't communicated to all the players. That usually means that I have changed something that I assume the game will sync to other players but it doesn't. For players it could be minor, but there is a significant risk the games will diverge and you end up playing very different games.

Is there any way to help troubleshoot this, as I often play team games

Yeah sureshot is going to try to isolate it once 0.25 releases. If interested go to the 0.25 change log thread and read the spoiler for sureshot in the first post. It talks through turning on some debug options to help figure out exactly what causes the OOS.

I have learned a bit about programming since last time I was actually involved here (and become a bit less obnoxious I hope), so maybe I will try to troubleshoot as well...

the current bts version (0.24v) is significantly OOS heh, even with minimal options and no AIs, theres very obvious differences between players games (like someone will die in another players game, but be thriving in their own).

personally i don't recommend trying it for true multiplayer fun yet, just for testing since its more like quasi-multi/single player atm

O_o
odd... that's a bummer, 99% of times I play multiplayer with my wife.
