[BTS] Forbidden Palace vs Oversea Maintenance ?

I have a simple question - does building the frobidden palace (or versailes) on another landmass only reduce distance maintenance ? Or does it remove the Oversea Maintenance for my cities there as well ?

good question, sorry I can't answer but I know they reduced the cost of overseas maintenance in the patch, so I am thinking there is no additional effect with the palace.
I think in the description of the palace it is generally described as acting like a second capital in terms of distance.

Just tried it with world builder. It is correct, that the forbidden palace acts as a second capital only in means of distance maintenance. However, since colonial expenses per city are capped at double the distance maintenance, indirectly you still get reduced colonial expenses by oversea cities.

Yes, State Property completely kills colonial expenses.
