Okay, I have searched far and wide for a forum post relating to my specific problem here, and I have not been able to find one.
I'm running XP/SP3 on a "Boot Camped" MacBook Pro with Intel DualCore 2.16 Ghz processors, 2 GB of RAM, and an ATI Radeon X1600 with 256 MB of VRAM. I have a Civ4 Vanilla installed and am now trying to install BTS. Every time I initiate the installer, I get to the point where BTS is supposed to start installing, and I see a message that the installer is searching for "DirectX runtime components". After a few seconds, the installer mysteriously quits, leaving no trace whatsoever.
I have tried running the installer directly from the disc, and I've tried renaming the installer folder. Nothing has solved this problem.
Note: Currently, Civ4 is NOT patched. However, I tried reinstalling Civ4, and the previous patched version resulted in the same problem. Can anyone tell me what's going on here?
