Ok. Forgive me if this has been asked already, but I was unable to find an answer after looking through the BtS and Strategy forums. I was noticing in my current game that all of the buildings associated with my state religion (in this case Hinduism) are generating +2 production (hammers) along with their normal effect. I have searched the religions, buildings, and even all the wonders through the civilopedia and cannot find an explaination for this. It is not listed as being caused by my civcs at all, but in case that's the circumstance, I am under: U. Suffrage, Free Speech, Caste System, Free Market, Pacifism. I am playing as Portugal on a Large random map. I have had no events of a national nature that did anything remotely close to this. I am currently not enjoying a golden age. So, as far as I know, there is nothing that should be causing this, unless its not stated in the civilopedia or tooltips anywhere in game. Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

Just to clarify, Im not complaining about unexpected extra production, I just want to know how to duplicate it in the future.

Thanks for any help

you have the Apostolic Palace's religion. One of the effect is to give every AP-religion-related building give +2 :hammer:. Eer, no, :hammers:, sorry.

Thanks for the info Juju. My state religion is in fact that of the palace's (since I built it) and it appears nowhere in the civilopedia that it has this effect. Though this does seem the most likely cause.

In this thread, FrancisMarion pointed out that:

Religious Wonder Combo

Palace + University of Sankore + Sistine Chapel + Spiral Minerate =

2:hammers:, 2:science:, 5:culture:, and 2:gold: per religious building

I've managed to get the last 3, and have a fellow Buddhist build the Palace... much whipping later my empire was covered in temples, monastaries, and shrines.

An excellent strat for those religious types :goodjob:

Man cross thread quoting, I feel I'm moving up in the world ;)

I should have mentioned per Religious Building of your State Religion, and you only get the +2:hammers: if you have adopted the religion of the Palace, ofc if you built it, your religion is the Palace religion.

Building buildings of other religions only provides their standard benefits. I'm pretty sure going free religion negates all these benefits, but I'll have to double check that.

Changing the state religion does not remove the hammer boni but i have had new Ap religion religious buildings not produce hammers while building without their state religion active. Does anyone have more knowledge on this?
