BTS RFC China

Hey All,

Long time lurker, first time poster.


Has anyone done the RFC China that is included in BTS?

I have been playing on Monarch, and tried many different start combinations, including the one at this site, and have been unable to beat the Babylonians to Confucianism. I mean not even close.

Is it required to actually found confucianism? Or, with open borders with the founder, would it spread into China on it's own early enough to get the two academies off?

Is it better to just concentrate on getting Taoism first? Taoism doens't spread as fast as Confucianism right?

You need both, and you almost have to found them yourself, because the odds of them spreading to you practically non-existant(unless Toku manages to found them, which is pretty much a "snowball-in-hell" proposition.) Basically, what I did to get them was beeline the pre-reqs, and then detour to Priesthood. Pop Maths from the Oracle, and then research Calendar(you'll need Fishing and Sailing, but you want the former anyways.) I managed to pop both religions. Of course, I still failed, because I was horridly weak and got DOW'd by Japan and India and thus had to focus on defending myself. You absolutely HAVE to maximize research in the beginning by working all the commerce you possibly can....

Not sure what is going on with this scenario. It keeps asking me if I would like to rule another CIV. I keep saying no but in three cases it has moved me anyway against my wishes. Is this normal?
