[BtS] Rise of Mankind

i'm new to online play.... And from what i gather you can't play this mod online.... I can get online but i'm invisible to everyeone? What is the issue to get this online or is it not possible?

Is the Mod in this directory: C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods ? Must be to work properly.

When you D/L'd the mod what size was it? Should've been roughly 38megs.

Maybe the D/L got corrupted?

Also I noticed when you unzip the Mod that it has a starting Folder named Rise of Mankind and then folder inside that folder named the same. I copied the 2nd RoM folder into the above directory and have been playing the Mod for several months now. (I actually have the previous version installed the same way in the Mods folder, both versions work for me).

Hope this helps.

Otherwise I'd try a New D/L of the Mod and re-install it.

Ps. I also use Bhruic's UOP 3.13 ver 1.11 with this mod and it works just fine too!

Is everyone patched and modded the same? Must be to play over internet or lan. My son and I play RoM ver1.0 over our lan network here at the house.
We had to make sure that both machines were set up game/mod wise the same. I.e. both using Patch 3.13, then bhuic's UOP 3.13 ver 1.11, and then RoM 1.0., we've had several LONG sessions with this mod. It's been a blast.

Personnally I now have a hard time playing Stock BtS 3.13. I prefer this Mod hands down.

Sorry if this has been brought up before, but I am having a Memory Allocation failure, and then program exit when trying to load saved games played within the Mod? Any fixes or suggestions for this?
 
dunno if someone has asked this before, couldn't find it. Apparently, I haven't got the bar with the worker and unit commands when I am loading your mod. Am I bluntly missing something or is there a problem? I am not used in keyboard shortcuts and I'd rather have the bar on. Please, someone...?

In the Main BtS Forum you will find a thread titled Unofficial 3.13 Patch. Bhruic is the author of the Thread and the Patch. In the download section of this forum the patch is listed. Over 7000+ D/L's (maybe more now). Word has it that Bhruic's efforts will be included in the next *Official* Friaxis patch. Like Solver's was for the 3.13 patch.

Sepulchre, how much ram do you have? How many Savegame do you keep in the savegames folder?

Ad Hominem, sounds like a corrupted install. Try re-installig the mod.

Since any single city can only build four wonders, how is it easier to get a culture victory in RoM that in the standard game? It's very frustrating with this limitation and I thought that I was doing great to get four cities up to that level. Since each city can only build four great works, it would appear to me to make it HARDER to get a culture victory rather than easier...???

There are way way way more buidlings that give culture so it is definitely easier. Ive played it, Ive tried it, trust me, you can get to 50,000 culture like never before. The same thing happens with technology beakers and money later in the game. You have so many modifers that a city can have like 300% gold bonus, a 370% science bonus, and a 425% culture bonus. It adds up to the point where you can research a tech per turn on quick at 0% science. Not to mention making 30,000 gold per turn. It just gets ridiculus

Thanks for the reply! I did, twice, but to no avail. Still the action buttons are missing. damn...
 
Try this.... cntl-alt-o (oh, not zero) I know it sounds weird, but I when I lose the buttons this brings them back.

Tried, didn't work (thanks anyway) and proceeded to drastic measures (I had problems running any mod in Bts) aka reinstall the whole Civ4 package (three different disks, not the all-in-one version). Now things are smooth and nice :D

Well zappara you've done it. I can hardly bring myself to play vanilla BtS anymore. :cool:

Hope the Next Official patch is a doozey!
