[BtS] Rise of Mankind

Where would I go to remove the per city limit on world wonders? Found that one particularly annoying. Otherwise, great mod.

yes please tell me also,

i want to start my first ROM game since some longer time tonight. the woder limit sounds bad to me, i want to turn it off and get the stadard behaviour....

im quite excited to play the mode, all the features look quite promising to me

oh sorry, have found it some pages before:

in . \Mods\Rise of Mankind\Assets\XML\GlobalDefines.xml

change 4 to -1

<Define>
<DefineName>MAX_WORLD_WONDERS_PER_CITY</DefineName>
<iDefineIntVal>4</iDefineIntVal>
</Define>

May i ask one thing :) .. i have all three needed games and i have updated them. When i load mod everything works , but it does not change anything. Is there some problem with activating etc... In the upper right corner it says the riseofmankind , load the game, game starts , but everything is completely the same as in original version :confused:

Does anyone know what might be the problem:(

Thanks for your help :)

I had this exact problem when i first started playing RoM. Installing Bhurics unofficial patch solved the problem.

Installed the unofficial patch and still doesn't work :(
Is there anything else to do , or what might be causing my problem :confused:

Yea, you right about cities having several harbors/ports but I'd like to keep the harbor->international port upgrade line straightforward and simple - ;)[/QUOTE]

ya true but i was thinking of the event that doesn't work if you've alrdy upgraded to ports....i alrdy dont upgrade till i get the comm port upgrade available so that if i do get that quest i can do it but would be easier and better to utilize the port sooner

in assets\xml\globaldefines.xml search for the following lines:

Code:
<Define>
		<DefineName>MAX_WORLD_WONDERS_PER_CITY</DefineName>
		<iDefineIntVal>-1</iDefineIntVal>
	</Define>

the iDefineIntVal will be set to 4 change it to -1 as per the quote above. That is all.

That event if fixed for v2.0, it will require now ports instead of harbors.

hey CivFanatics community, I'm an old member (I'm not old physically lol, I'm 24, simply been registered for a long time and a long-time Civ series fan from the second one onward), so hey to anybody still here that might recognize me.

Anyways, I'm really liking this particular mod, however I've encountered two strange CTDs, one that might be connected to a tech, the other I have no idea. I've had no problems with this game whatsoever.

I uploaded the two savegames, both of which were reloaded from autosaves which I made a normal save out of.

In the first one, finish researching marxism, then research medicine, it CTD'ed when the research bar said 3 turns to go. Just select let them eat cake/bah I spoil them too much for any advisor popups for cities

In the second one finish researching the current tech, then research labor union, then civil engineering or something. I think it crashed while researching that one. This particular save also crashed while I was researching agricultural engineering. Like I said before, choose the second option for those advisor screens. In the event popup, choose the second option.

The second game is actually started from an autosave that was a few turns back, so I avoided the CTD for medicine. Honestly I'm not sure what is going on here.

Before anybody says anything, yea I like doing single player (no other comp players) games, we all have our preferences don't we :)

I finished my first ROM game on sunday. It's a grat mod, and I like to say thank you to the maker. All the additional civics, buildings and units add realism and deepnes to the game. also, the start in 6000 bc is nice, as now having "mysticsim" as starting tech as in standart bts is no longer such a large advantage.

keep up the good work and thanks!

Hey!

I've discovered this mod recently and enjoy it much :) Unfotunately in late game there are some major bugs, which I've noticed. One of them is a bug regarding ACV SAM. As you can see on the screenshot below the mod doesn't offer any options to control it

There's also a bug with city screen, but I don't made a screenshot for it.

I'm playing version 1.02. Hopefully someone could solve those issues, as I'm enjoying playing future eras much more, than previous :(

I now this is a silly quesion... but did you try loading the mod?
That would mean using the ADVANCED tab at the bottom of the first screen, then LOAD A MOD on the next screen, and finally 'Rise of Mankind" on the third screen.

Yes I know I being simple about this, but sometimes its the simple things that get overlooked.

I hope it was only something simple like this that was overlooked and it solves your problem. Enjoy!

when i load the mod it all seems to work fine but my units have no options to do anything. i can move them like normal and i can make them do things with the keybord like making the settler build a city by pressing b. the buttons to click on just arent there, any help

Once I'm in the game, my interface is gone. I can not even access any screens via the F-keys. I can order my units via the keyboard, ESC brings me the Options menu, but everything else is inaccessible and gone.

I'm running an up to date Civ 4 Complete, with RoM and all patches.
Vanilla BtS and Road to War mode works fine, btw, just RoM doesn't want to, even after reinstalling it.

Any suggestions?

Sounds alot like the problem the other poster had. Anyways, I would really like my CTD issue to be looked at as well.

I have a question regarding contracting. It says no penalty, but when i switch from emancipation to contracting i get 12 unhappy, is this intendend, or rather a bug?

I'm getting the exact same problem!

To the no interface players, are you patched to 3.13 for BtS?

Or are you using Blue Marble?

Back many pages ago there was similar problems. Most were cause by not being Patched to 3.13 for BtS. Some were using vanilla BtS or version 3.02. This caused problems.

I don't recall the Blue Marble fix though.

The answers are here just back in the threads pages somewhere.

I'm trying to reinstall Blue Marble.
The cause of the problem is probably that I just reinstalled Windows on a new harddrive, whilst I'm running CIV4 off the original one. The game is completely up to date.
