[BtS] Star Trek Mod

I agree. Though me posting screenshots probably isn't helping with the anticipation levels.

Tried another WBS file with the standard FF map and got the same result: no stars, no planets upon loading. So it's not the FF Flat Map at fault, but rather MOO2Civ mod. It appears several files are missing; could that be causing this, I wonder?
 
Well, actually I meant missing from MOO2Civ (I'd noticed it, but didn't pay much attention to it as the mod is still In Progress - and was when I started the thread on it, though pretty much dead in the water...), but since MOO2Civ is built/loaded on top of FF, it amounts to the same thing - I think. But thx for the tip - hadn't tried yet, but will now!
 
This sucks: I can load the FF & FF Flat maps (although getting a Load Error message, for which I have a fix) and save/load them w/FF mod, but when I load them w/MOO2Civ stars & planets are missing. As I'm not sure if it's something with FF mod or MOO2Civ what's causing this, I'm basically stuck.:(

Only thing left now is trying with Star Trek mod (I've already tried with Babylon 5's Spiral Galaxy, but this freezes up my screen when I try to load it w/MOO2Civ), but my hopes are a bit down by now...

BTW, I gather from your reply the next Star Trek Beta won't yet include a scenario?:confused:

EDIT: Tried the Star Trek Flat map w/Star Trek Beta2; saved as WBS, reloads fine - so no problem there. (Haven't yet tried editing it, though.)
 
The load error might be causing the problem. They can produce strange results sometimes.

As for scenarios, I hope to include Xindi Attack and ST: DS9 in beta 3 (as they will need quite a bit of playtesting to get balanced most likely) but the others will wait for the main release (or beta 4, if I need it). The units may be released before beta 3 if they are finished before them - they are the last thing to include before releasing the art/sound pack.
 
Missing planets and stars appear before and after the Load Error fix, so the problem, most likely, is in MOO2Civ somewhere. (I'll leave it for now.)

Anyway, looking forward to the scenarios and new units!;)
 
Hey nice Work. I played about 250 rounds and everything seems to be working well. No Error's! Keep up the nice work.

The TechTree looks a lot different to what I have seen before but I have to have a close look at that. I know you discussed this before.

From my perspective you should implement more ships in the next beta.

I mentioned a load error message with the FF Flat map. Here's a simple fix for it, to be placed in Assets\XML\Misc. (I've tested it and though I've not seen any other reports on it, perhaps you can include it in an update.);)
 
Does that file fix your problem? It's already included in Star Trek and Final Frontier be default (it's identical to the one I have, or at least looks like it, and I made no changes from Final Frontier).

And yes, new units will be included. Since the last post on the matter, I've received the Klingon, Dominion, and Breen units. I've also put the Galaxy and Sovereign in, as well as an alien vessel (Kessok Light from Bridge Commander, it will be used in an event).

No, I still can't edit any map in MOO2Civ. I'm not following: the load error message (which is all it is, FF loads & plays fine) appears when loading FF Flat map in FF mod - is there a FF update I missed? Or am I the only one who gets this message?:confused: (It's not related to Star Trek or Star Trek Mod, just FF. But it was one of the error messages I got when loading MOO2Civ - prepatch version.)

I didn't want to see this thread get off the first page in Modpacks so I thought I'd post another screenshot to bump the thread up, here is a composite of all the units for Borg, Breen, Dominion, Klingon, Romulan, Bajoran, Kazon, & Krenim... warning, its 1920x1200 pixels.

lets all stop for just a second and truly sit and appreciate the work that this man has done on behalf of trekkies everywhere. as i have yet to play the mod because i dont want to spoil myself until all units types are finished i do have a thought, i have read all posts and have heard no discussion i believe on possibly naming starbases. i think this might be an important addition. perhaps a promp like a city when created. nothing to fancy possibly for humans a random Star Base- (1-30 etc) just a thought to run on. great work so far and keep it up im salivated over the final release. and btw to the model maker, grats to you they look great... NOW get them in the game. thanks again guys.

Awesome work!!! :goodjob: Can't wait til Beta 3 is released with all these yummay units, and I'll download again and have another bash.... :)
