For the Turks, I never needed more than 3 armies on a particular city. Then again, I had more armies there than I knew what to do with
As you move 'em towards Japan's old lands to raze Persian (and Egyptian) cities, I'd put 'em in stacks of 5. 4 should be enough to raze cities without being counterattacked, but the 5th provides a safety margin. Besides, we have TONS of armies.
TT - good observations. Persia doesn't have RPs yet, but they could trade with Egypt for it pretty much any time.
Other notes: there are a lot of military units all over the place. Many of the armies are fortified for healing, so look around a bit. Major locations are:
* Ottoman peninsula (quite spread out)
* Just north of Japan - an army is covering slaves and 2 arty
* Egypt - not far from Thebes
* Persia - their former core (by the ruins of Persepolis and Pasargadae)
Also, I misclicked and sent a stack of 3 roaders through a swamp on their way to a jungle. You'll see them on automove after the IBT -- sorry about that.
Finally...we only need ~20 more Settlers to completely fill our continent with tax farms. Should we switch towns to Wealth, or should we build more settlers to make tax farms in old Ottoman lands? Personally, I'd lean towards switching new builds to Wealth; the game will probably be won before all the current cities finish their Settler builds.
