When you talk to another civ, you have the option of asking "what are our current trades?" This then shows you what each side is giving. If you click on one of the items, the central menu then changes to allow you to ask "will you accept this trade?" The AI agrees, and all your exisitng trading is duplicated.
Going back into the current trades option again, you'll see multiples of the resources/gold you are trading listed. It seems you can do this endlessly. And it doesn't appear to be simply listing them multiple times, it looks like they are real trades, as my 300-something gold per turn quickly became over 1000 gold per turn just doing this.
