I installed Buffy mod that came with BUG mod, previously i had only BUG, but when i last installed Civ 4 i couldnt find it or get it to work. So i installed Buffy and its working well, except it isnt showing number of cities me and my opponents have on the scoreboard. Does anyone know why or how to fix this?

EDIT: Also other things ive noticed:
1) Buffy mod doesnt say why opponents dont want to trade each tech, BULL used to say
2) It doesnt show whos is each others worst enemy
3) Military Screen doesnt show level of likeliness that opponent might attack me
4) Alt+x doesnt work to put marker of a city layout, when planning cities.

There are probably more, i think im starting to see the pattern. Looks like Buffy mod doesnt want us to know us many things, maybe creators of the mod think that its cheating. But ive played like 500-1000 games with those things, its become part of my game.

If i install BUG will it change things back? Any help removing buffy and installing pure BUG and BULL?

Go to the BUG mod options screen, by clicking on the bug icon on the top left bar. Go to the scoreboard tab. This allows to greatly customize what is shown. In the lower section "advanced options" is where the scoreboard composition can be changed. The string in "column order" is what actually matters.

In that string the number of cities is coded by a "Q". Check if that is present, and if not, add it where you want it to be shown.

Btw, hovering over the "column order" text field shows a tooltip with options.

Thank you for your answer! However it doesnt seem to work for me.

As you can see in top left corner i dont have any bull icon and when i go to scoreboard then it shows me all the codes, but Q - cities, are not in this list. I added Q at the end anyway, but nothing changed on the live scoreboard as you can see.

This is odd. What mod and version are you running exactly? Make sure you have latest version of BUFFY (3.19.005) installed. For the download, see this thread.

3.19.001, you think i really need 005? You think it will fix it? I dont remember how i installed it and i have never uninstalled a mod alone, only together with civ4 or windows. It would be a lot of work for me...

I do not have a version history with BUFFY features on hand but I think it is quite possible this was added later on. Thus using the new version should allow the scoreboard to display the city count. I know for certain it works for me using 3.19.005 .

Re: (Un)Installing:

this depends on how you installed it. The typical way of installing a mod is to put it as a folder into the BtS/Mods directory. If it is installed that way, you do not need to uninstall the old version. You can just run the installer provided by the download I liked earlier.

The other possibility is to install a mod into the Custom Assets folder. If you installed BUFFY into your Custom Assets folder, that will have to be removed.

So, about uninstalling the previous BUFFY mod:

first, check if you have a folder called "BUFFY-3.09.001" in your BtS/Mody directory.
If this folder exists, you can delete the "BUFFY-3.19.001" folder, but you do not need to. The game would recognize this as a different mod from 3.19.005 as the folder names are different.
If that folder is not present you installed the mod into your Custom Assets folder. I would not expect this to be the case.
Anyway, the CustomAssets folder should be in the parent directory of the saves folder. If it contains anything more than just folders there is something installed there. If there is something rename the folder (or delete it, if you are sure you do not want to keep anything in it) and the game should create a new, empty CustomAssets folder, removing anything that was installed there.

To install the new version:

You can then run the installer provided by the download I previously linked to install BUFFY-3.19.005, which should create a "BUFFY-3.19.005" folder in your BtS/Mods directory. IIRC it can also provide a desktop shortcut for launching the mod.

I tryed it, it looks like i installed it, but i dont see any difference. Is it possible my mod isnt loaded? It does show the message on the bottom side which is blinking "click ctrl+alt+o to enter BUG settings." So it makes me think that it is loaded, but too many things i expected from the mod i do not see.

Is it possible my mod isnt loaded?
To check unambiguously if a mod is loaded, start the base game and navigate to Advanced -> Load a Mod -> mod name (here BUFFY-3.19.005). Alternatively load the mod and go to Advanced -> About this Build , and check the displayed mod name.

I must admit that at this point I am running out of ideas.

At this point it would be helpful if you shared where you installed the game from, and maybe what OS you are running. Out of the following I am only familiar with the CD installation.

If you are using Steam, set the game version to beta, as that is the same version as the CD release, which is the version mods are built for. See this for reference:

Mods will not work with the default install of Steam as they change assets to work with their MP. You need to switch to the "Beta-original release". But first I recommend a fresh install. Uninstall in Steam and then make sure to delete all civ related files and folders under Programs and My documents.

Reinstall in Steam. Then click on properties > Betas tab > select Beta -original release. Steam will reinstall the game.

After it installs go here to download BUFFY 005 version, and take note of the Vista Fixes tab, and perform all steps in step 1 and 2:
http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ4/mod.php

Important: Always run BTS from the executable which you can pin to Quick Access in Explorer. Do not run from Steam Library

If you are using a Cd installation, check that you have installed the 3.19 Patch by Navigating to Advanced -> About this Build. this should show something like Civ version: 319 and Build version: 3.1.9.0. If the version is anything lower, the patch can be found here.

Edit: It had slipped my mind that patching was more involved. For future reference, this thread should be consulted for patching.

If you are using GoG, I believe there is some problem with that ... check out this thread.

Maybe @lymond knows more.

We need to know what version of Civ IV you are running..disks, Steam, GOG, etc.?

And your OS?

You are def not on the latest version of BUFFY...that'd be .005. It's the Hall of Fame Mod. Ah ..i was going to post link to the thread but I see you are in there.

OS is windows 10

From Civ4BeyondSword.exe
civ version is 3.0.3.1
Product version is 3, 0, 3, 1 (77541)

From readme.htm
Last updated 6 – Aug – 2007
v3.3

Its not Steam version for sure, on Steam i only have Settlers of Catan and Dota2, but i dont remember what, it has been a very long time. Probably CD-Disk version.

Civ version: 319 and Build version: 3.1.9.0. If the version is anything lower, the patch can be found here.
Oh This might be the problem, version 3.0.3.1 is probably lower then 3.1.9.0, im downloading the patch.

Thank you for your hard work to help me, it is working now! However i think i might have installed patch incorrectly somehow. on some tooltips it says TXT_GAME_OPTION something like that and doesnt show the correct message.
